NCCT Meeting 16th December 2014 - 5pm at St Andrews Church
Present: SR, JD, PG, JSH
Apologies: LF
Approach from Daniel Kenning
Daniel Kenning (Splendid Engineering) had emailed a document before the meeting containing some ideas relating to possible development of the St Peters site as a community hub and was invited to attend. However, Daniel was unable to attend following minor motorbike accident.
His colleague Andy attended to discuss the idea of an enterprise hub / workspaces for micro-businesses. Andy used to be a music teacher at St Peters. He, Daniel and two others currently use workspace in the Ideas Hub in High Chelmer shopping centre but are looking to move. They felt that St Peters was an ideal site.
He, Daniel and others wanted to help small businesses set up and grow. They also noted the lack of an Arts Centre in Chelmsford.
Those present welcomed the initiative from Daniel and Andy. SR agreed to follow up with Daniel.
Report pulled at Essex CC
Detailed papers on special education provision should have gone to ECC Cabinet that morning. However, the whole subject had put back for further, extensive review. So we cannot expect to hear anything about the future of the St Peter's site before late Spring 2015 at the earliest.
SR had made representations to ECC about the neglect of the site and furniture, books etc. still in the building. ECC had undertaken to remove loose items.
Bank account
PG reported some, but very slow, progress in obtaining a charity reference from HMRC enabling us to be treated as a charity for tax purposes and thus confirm our bank account.
As there were no other updates, meeting closed 6.15pm
