Multiple Models of Depletion caused by Construction
Proposal
In order to describe the depletion effects of construction upon resources, energy and environment in multiple ways for a fixed area the following model is proposed based on the rules of the Game of Life.
Rules of the Game of Life
1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if caused by under-population.
2. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives on to the next generation.
3. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by over-population.
4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.

Additional Principles and Rules
Resources, Energy and environment are depleted by using them for construction purposes and building on them.
Certain construction forms can be sustained others exceed sustainable levels.
In this model resources, energy and environment ‘Enviro’ cubes are replaced with ‘Morph’ cubes of varying heights.
All ‘Morph’ forms progress from Generation to Generation and increase in height.
If their heights exceed 4 levels; excluding the base which represents service connections; then the ‘Morph’ form dies ‘as if by over-population’ and dies out.
If the height is between 2 and 3 levels. It is regarded as sustainable and continues to evolve to the next generation.
If the height remains at low level. It is regarded as ‘under-population’ and dies out in the next generation.
Method
Create a 'Moore Neighbourhood' 3 x 3 grid.
Populate it with component cubes with a name of ‘Enviro’ and a definition name that is unique for each cube.
Make as many copies of this grid as needed.
Create ‘Morph’ component cube forms as follows to represent Artificial selection.
‘Morph 1’, A cube with 1 level of construction.
‘Morph 2’ A cube with 2 levels of construction.
‘Morph 3’ A cube with 3 levels of construction.
‘Morph 4’ A cube with 4 levels of construction.
Randomly seed the original grid and all the copies of the grid with the ‘Morph’ component forms at the same time replacing the ‘Enviro’ forms to represent Natural selection.
Multiple Unique Generative copies are produced each time the process is run.
Save the outcome as a new component and then a file and Label it ‘Gen001’
Repeat the process as required.
Results
The results are displayed in the following animation sequence.
The animation is formed by placing each level of the 'Morph' cubes in a separate layer and linking that layer to an individual scene in the CAD program.
As each scene is played each layer of each random, multiple, generative form is displayed.
The animation therefore represents the shared time frame for all of the generative versions produced.
