A Model of Depletion caused by Construction
Proposal
In order to describe the depletion effects of construction upon resources, energy and environment the following model is proposed based on the rules of the Game of Life.
Rules of the Game of Life
1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbours dies, as if caused by under-population.
2. Any live cell with two or three live neighbours lives on to the next generation.
3. Any live cell with more than three live neighbours dies, as if by over-population.
4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbours becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.

Additional Principles and Rules
Resources, Energy and environment are depleted by using them for construction purposes and building on them.
Certain construction forms can be sustained others exceed sustainable levels.
In this model resources, energy and environment ‘Enviro’ cubes are replaced with ‘Morph’ cubes of varying heights.
All ‘Morph’ forms progress from Generation to Generation and increase in height.
If their heights exceed 4 levels; excluding the base which represents service connections; then the ‘Morph’ form dies ‘as if by over-population’.
If the height remains at low level it is regarded as ‘under-population’ and dies out in the next generation.
Method
Create a grid and populate it with component cubes with a name of ‘Enviro’ and a definition name that is unique for each cube.
Create ‘Morph’ component cube forms as follows to represent Artificial selection.
‘Morph 1’A cube with no cubes on it and in a wire frame form = 0 levels of construction, no resources, energy and environment.
‘Morph 2’, A wire frame cube with 1 cube on top of it = 1 level of construction.
‘Morph 3’ A cube with 2 cubes on top of it = 2 level of construction.
‘Morph 4’ A cube with 3 cubes on top of it = 3 level of construction.
‘Morph 5’ A cube with 4 cubes on top of it = 4 level of construction.
Randomly seed the grid with the ‘Morph’ component forms replacing the ‘Enviro’ forms to represent Natural selection.
Save the outcome as a new file. Label it ‘Gen001’
Reload; replace; the components in ‘Gen001’ in the following relationships and sequences to represent Convergent and Divergent evolution, optimal solutions and maximum variety from the available set.
‘Morph 5’ cubes with ‘Morph’ 1 cubes.
‘Morph 2’, cubes with ‘Morph’ 1 cubes.
‘Morph 3’ cubes with ‘Morph 4’ cubes.
‘Morph 4’ cubes with ‘Morph 5’ cubes.
Results
The end form in the process is a grid populated with cubes in a wire frame form indicating that all resources, energy and environment are used up.
Interpretation
The initial environment, energy and resources of any part of the grid are used up by any form of construction.
The denser; higher; construction, ‘over populated ‘, ‘Morph’ forms, needing more environment, energy and resources die out first.
The minimum density, lowest, construction ‘Morph’ forms, needing the minimum environment, energy and resources die out second since the resources are used up at a faster rate by the larger construction ‘ Morph’ forms and do not allow the lowest, unfit, ‘under-populated’ forms to survive.
The zero resource, energy and environment areas remain as zero potential.
The sustainable forms remain to the next generation as islands in a sea of gradually depleting resources, energy and environment.
If the forms increase in density they die out due to a reduction in resources, energy and environment.
The ‘Morph’ forms that have the average density last the longest since they use the resources, energy and environment in a sustainable way.
All of the ‘Morph’ forms eventually die out
The resources, energy and environment of the original grid can only be replenished by external sources.
