Game Cancellation Procedures
Home Team Responsibility
Check with the visiting coach mid-week prior to the game to coordinate jersey colors. In case of conflict the home team changes.
Provide a quality game ball. Referee has the authority to accept or reject the ball.
Rescheduling games from rain outs as described below.
Conduct
Each coach is responsible to all the soccer clubs for the conduct of his/her players and spectators.
Coaches must exercise every reasonable precaution against disturbance or disorderly conduct before, each during and after match.
Individual Game Cancellation Procedure
There is significant disruption to referee scheduling and field usage/availability caused by various reasons for rescheduling a game. Accordingly, teams should try to play its games as scheduled. If missing a player or 2 please show up and play with the players that are there and mix teams up and play. The players just want to show up and play recreational soccer and no scores or standings are being monitored.
If you must cancel or reschedule a game please follow the procedure outlined below (not rainouts).
Coaches are responsible for rescheduling their own games with the field coordinator or referee scheduler.
Both coaches must agree to the change.
The coach that is requesting the game cancellation is responsible for ensuring the referee administrator is made aware of the game cancellation.
Typically the home team notifies the referee administrator since it is their home field.
In the case the referee administration was not informed and referees are scheduled and show up to the field and no teams are there to play, the coach will be responsible for the referee payment
There is a google form for coaches to fill out that contains all of the information needed to cancel and/or reschedule the game.
The Referee Administrator must be notified no later than 5 days prior to the date of the game, which is by Tuesday at 5PM prior to the upcoming Sat game date.
Communication after 5pm on Tuesday will be considered a late cancellation and referee fees will need to be paid in the case referees are already committed to the game.
If a rainout occurs, the home team needs to coordinate the reschedule with the visiting coach.
Step 1. Understand the days and times your home field is available for a rescheduled game.
Each club manages their home fields differently due to team's practicing and field rotation. This is not determined by the referee coordinator.
Some clubs may have a google calendar to view for field availability or a google sheet with a game list
Step 2. Contact the coach of the other team to coordinate dates and times they are available for a make-up game
Step 3. Fill out the game request form to secure referees for the make-up game. Link is listed above
