KIMURA Hakusan (木村白山, b. 1??? - d. 19??)
- very little is known about Kimura's life and career
- began his animation career as an assistant to animation pioneer Seitaro Kitayama at Kitayama Eiga Seisakujo (Kitayama's own studios)
- the studio was destroyed by the 1923 Kanto quake
- he then worked in the production of educational films at Asahi Kinema Gomei-sha
- he also collaborated with Kenzo Masaoka in the development of the first animation talkie - was Masaoka's cinematographer at his short-lived studio in Kyoto. Kimura stayed in Kyoto when Masaoka went to Tokyo in 1941 to work for Shochiku
