IKIF
IKIF, or ISHIDA KIFUNE IMAGE FACTORY (石田木船映像工場 / Ishida Kifune Eizō Kōjō) are an animation team made up of Sonoko ISHIDA (KIFUNE) and her husband Tokumitsu KIFUNE established in 1979.

they started off making independent animation on 8mm and 16mm
they are know for their experimental animation and video installations using a variety of analogue and digital techniques
after purchasing an Amiga computer in the late 1980s, they became involved in CG animation production.
1997 IKIF + established. In addition to their independent work, they have been at the forefront of 3DCG animation since the dawn of the technology and have their own company IKIF PLUS .
they have done computer animation for such notable works as Patlabor: the Movie (Mamoru OSHII, 1989) in the early days of the technology to doing 3DCG supervision for the early 3DCG Doraemon movies in the 2000s.
they have held numerous video workshops at museums and other venues across Japan
they are members of JASA and JAA
Sonoko ISHIDA ( 石田園子), b. 1959
1981 graduated from Tokyo Zokei University with a degree in Visual Design
1981 joined Tomy Co. where she worked in the planning and design of character toys and other goods.
1997 Part-time animation lecturer at Tokyo Zokei University
2001 Full-time animation professor at Tokyo Polytechnic University (Kougei).
2003 Tokyo Polytechnic University establishes its animation department
2024 retirement from Tokyo Polytechnic University

Tokumitsu KIFUNE (木船徳光), b. 1959
first year of art school at Ochanomizu Art Academy
1980 graduated from Tokyo Zokei University with a degree in painting
worked in digital animation in a variety of roles including helping produce a pilot for a digital animation system for Toshi9o MATSUMOTO and doing pixel art for Famicom
taught animation at Nippon Design College and at a vocational school in Sendagaya
