Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table

Atomic Structure and the Periodic Table:

The atomic theory was devloped by John Dalton about 200 years ago at around 1807-1808. Although at the time, he said that the atoms of any one element were identical and each atom 'indivisble', this is not the case now.

Through great scientists, we have learnt that atoms are made up of even smaller 'sub-atomic' parts.

    • The most important 'sub-atomic' particles are electrons, protons and neutrons.
        • These are only the main ones, since 70 sub-atomic particles have been discovered.

I have attached my notes according to the textbook as subpages here You may wish to browse them in this order as this is the order in the book:

PPPSSSTTT...

the Relative Atomic Mass page is still under construction... so uh.. it was the last minute thing I made for my revision becuase I didn't understand the textbook, so forgive me if things aren't so clear.

ENJOY!
