(1) The gauze strip is a thin piece of sterile gauze that is made out of cotton. They can easily be purchased at your local pharmacy and can be used to clean areas where there are large spacings, underneath bridges, teeth that are at the end of a row. Using a gauze strip is great for cleaning tooth surfaces that are near missing teeth and individuals with implants.
How to use a gauze strip:
Begin by separating the 2x2 gauze square and fold it down, making it into a rectangular shape. The area that was folded should then be placed down towards the gums. It should then be adapted by having the gauze hug the tooth in a c-shape and using a back and forth motion to remove the plaque.
