Social Munzees are locationless munzees that generate no points. They are a fun aspect of the game that are used for many different purposes.
You can be creative in your use of them as you can add any picture and use them in many different ways.
Socials can be purchased in the Munzee store.
What are some of the uses for socials?
Some are public socials that anyone can scan. Their code is placed in the image so that if you see it on someone else's wall, you are free to scan it.
Example:
Sometimes socials are released to celebrate a personal achievement.
Examples:
Other types of socials are only to be shared in certain circumstances. You should never share a social that does not have code in the image unless you have been given permission to.
You can also purchase a lock to make your social secure. A secure social code will change each time it is capped, so you can only share it with one person at a time. This can be inconvenient, so many choose to keep their socials unlocked and trust other players not to share them.
Sometimes people have a social that they carry with them so that when they meet another player out capping or at an event, they can share the code with them. This is a nice record of other players you have run into.
Example:
Sometimes socials are used in trade for other players deploying in a virtual garden. A nice incentive.
Example:
Some socials are achievement socials which you earn by completing a certain task.
You can find these on the Munzee Social Achievement page.
Example:
Or in exchange for sending your rover to someone to walk or travel with.
There are Trade Only socials which you can scan if you, in turn, send the code to your Trade only social.
A good place to find socials and universals to cap is Cuppazee's Universal Capper tool.
There is a group on Facebook called the Social Munzee Sharing Group. People in this group share the codes to their public socials.
