Sometimes our munzees go missing, or they fade or get torn. If players indicate that your munzee is in need of repair, you will need to either verify that it is still good by going to the munzee and scanning it to verify it. Or you will need to replace it with a generic munzee (purchased from the Munzee Store or an authorized reseller). You can also choose to archive the munzee if you feel it has lived a long enough life and you want to open up the area.
If you are a premium member, you can replace on site using the app.
Click on your munzee on the map, open up the details and then click the three dots in the upper right corner.
Click "replace". This will open up your scanner.
Scan the new generic. This will link the details of the munzee to the new sticker.
Apply the sticker.
Scan the new sticker again to verify.
From the List mode, just swipe left on the munzee in question and click "replace".
If you are not a premium member, or you want to link your generic at home first, or maybe a player has contacted you from the field, offering to replace the munzee for you, you can link the generic at your computer.
Whether you are replacing it yourself or another player is providing the sticker, you will need to get the 6 digit code from the generic to link it. Do this by doing a test scan.
Open your tools in your app menu and click on Test Scan. This will open up the scanner. Once you scan the sticker, an entry will pop up with the URL
of the sticker. You will need the last 6 digits of the URL (after the /g/) to link your generic. If you are the one in the field, you can long press (hold down for a few seconds) on the link in your scan history to add it to your copy clipboard. You can then paste it into a Munzee Message to the owner.
Go to your computer and, from your deployed munzees list, click on the munzee that you are replacing.
Click on "Edit Munzee" from the menu bar at the top.
Below the notes section, you will find an area to link your generic. Add the 6 digit number you got from the test scan to the box and then click "link generic". This will now code that sticker to the munzee. Then you, or the other player, can apply it to the location where the original munzee was deployed.
