Just some tips for some of the badges that prove to be somewhat tricky. Need advice on a badge I haven't mentioned? Just ask! Message Nyisutter
Capture/Deploy Streak badges: Patience! If you miss a day and have to start over, know that we have all been there! Just pick it back up and try again. It helps if you let a friend know that you are working on your streak. Hopefully, they will nudge you if have forgotten to get out and cap or deploy that day! Social deploys and captures do count. As do virtuals. So if you can't get out of the house, you do have options. You can also use "armchair Munzees" for keeping up your streak on a rainy day.
100 Green: Start early in the day. This takes a long time!
Do NOT convert your greenies until after you have received your badge.
Deploy a few more than 100 just to cover your bases!
5X5: This is one is complicated enough to merit its own page! Click HERE for tips on this badge.
One additional note. This badge was created before the mini mystery was created. Both types of Mysteries will work, but you may need to send a ticket to Munzee support if you cap mini mysteries. They will make sure you get your badge!
Air Munzee: You must both cap 23 munzees and deploy 23 munzees in one MHQ day. No more, no less.
Any type will work, including socials.
Once you have your quota for the day, put that phone away! Don't be tempted by those bouncing specials!!
This one is fun to do with a friend. Both of you deploy 23 munzees and then cap each other's. Then you have what you need!
Here's a fun video the Geocaching Vlogger did about this badge.
Family Jewels: You must cap or deploy at least one of each jewel (diamond, ruby, amethyst, topaz, aquamarine and emerald).
Emeralds are only found in MHQ designed gardens. They will occasionally announce a sale or sometimes give them away as prizes. Once you purchase or win an emerald, it is automatically deployed in an MHQ determined garden. Find them on this map.
Virtual High 5: You must deploy 5 plain white virtuals. After you receive your badge, you can convert them to color. But, don't convert before! Since the retirement of the regular virtual, MHQ has updated this badge to allow white mvms.
Easy as Pi: For this badge, you must end your day with a total of 314 points. This badge is easiest before you have deployed a lot because the points you earn from others capping your munzees can affect your total. So try for this badge early on so that you are more in control of your points! If you are close to 314 and need less than 5 points, try finding a quiz munzee and purposely getting the answer wrong. Points on quizzes go down 1 pt for each wrong answer.
Premium Photo: Add a picture to a munzee when you cap or deploy it.
Dirty Dozen: You need to blast cap exactly 12 virtuals. Once you do, you will receive your badge and a new blast cap so you can then go get a full 100 blast. Try to find a cluster designed for this badge. Such as our dirty dozen cluster at 370 Lakeside Park. If you can't find a Dirty Dozen cluster and can only find large clusters, start away from the cluster. The blast is going to go for whatever it can find in a mile radius. So, don't start in the middle of the cluster. Start about a mile out and then move closer or farther away until your blast indicator shows only 12. When you press the bomb in your app, it will tell you how many you can cap with that blast You can confirm the blast or back out until the number is ideal.
Monthly Video Contest Participant: Submit a video to the contest. Join the Munzee Monthly Giveaway group on Facebook for details. (If you win the contest, you get another badge and cool prizes!) The contest is a random drawing so video skills not needed!
Eventzee Midas Touch, Silver Bullet and Lucky Penny: These are based on the 3 fastest finishers in an Eventzee photo hunt. What confuses most people is that they think it is the first, second or third to finish taking all the pictures. It is not how soon you finish from when the hunt started, it is how fast YOU work. The clock starts when you submit YOUR first photo and when you submit YOUR last photo of the hunt. Someone may complete the hunt an hour after the clues are released. But, if someone else takes only 15 minutes to submit all their pictures on Sunday afternoon, they will come out ahead in the leaderboard. This gives everyone a fair chance at the hunt. Whether they work when the clues come out or they are sleeping on the other side of the world. Everyone has a fair shot.
These badges are easiest to earn at small, local events.
Here is a partial list of badges that have been issued. You can hover over the badges on your badge page, or click on them in the app, to see the requirements. Some badges are hidden until you earn them.
