Q: How do you capture a munzee?
A: For a physical munzee, you must open your app and use the big green "m" button at the bottom of the screen. Or if you are have clicked on a munzee from the list, there is a capture button on the munzee screen.
Using the List view of nearby munzees, just swipe left on the munzee you wish to capture and then click "capture".
For a Virtual Munzee, if you are within 300 ft, you can cap the munzee by just pushing the capture button. No need to scan anything.
Q: How do you deploy a munzee?
Go to the location that you wish to put your sticker. Push the capture/deploy button (big pin with m), scan your sticker and apply to your location. After you deploy, you can edit the name and add hints for your finders.
To deploy a virtual, go to your Undeployed tab on your computer, select a virtual. Click "edit location", you can either drag it to where you want or add specific coordinates under the map.
You can also open the map on the Munzee Website and use the tools on the right to Quick Deploy a munzee.
To deploy a virtual from your app, go to your profile, select Undeployed munzees, select the pin you wish to deploy, click the three dots at the top of the screen and then select deploy. This will deploy it where you stand.
There is now a feature to quick deploy from the app by long pressing on the capture/deploy button. It will pull up a list of your available virtuals to choose from. To deploy in a remote spot, scroll the map to the location you desire and center the map where you want your pin. Long press the capture/deploy button and your list will pop up. You can adjust the location after you select your pin.
Q: What comes with a Premium Membership?
A: The Details are HERE
Q: What are Credits?
A: Credits are what you use to convert a greenie into a special. For example jewels, hotels, etc. While some specials can be purchased preconverted, some specials, such as clan weapons, will only appear as credits to be used in converting greenies.
Q: How do you obtain credits?
A: Some credits can be purchased in the Munzee store and authorized resellers. Clan weapons are won through clan battle. You can also win credits through Prize Wheel Munzees and occasionally through seasonal specials that Munzee releases. You can also win them from certain munzee types.
Q: How do I know what credits I have and how do I deploy them?
A: If you are on the computer, click the little down arrow next to your avatar at the right top of the page. Select "credits" from the menu and a page with your available credits will appear.
In the app, there is a Credit option in your profile.
If you are in the app, go to your profile and look at the inventory tab.
Should you decide to use one of the credits to convert your greenie, just touch the one you want to use and an a box will pop up to confirm your decision.
Q: How far apart can munzees be?
A: Each munzee must be at least 50ft from a munzeed deployed by another player and 150 ft from one of your own deploys. Personal Munzees have no proximity rules. Flat Rob virtuals have no proximity rules in regards to other munzees, but follow the same rules in regards to other Flat Robs. In your app, if you zoom in, you will see red proximity circles that will help you know where you can deploy. Make sure the blue dot is outside the red circles.
Q: What are all the different types?
A: There is a helpful guide HERE hover over the different pins to find out more about them. Here is another list created by Frank Broughton.
Q: What time zone is MHQ time?
A: Central Time zone. (MHQ is in McKinney, TX)
Q: How do you print Munzees?
A: I use a combination of player created tools to help me print. Ryan Rockey has an add on that you can download to easily transfer several code URLS at once. Using that, I select my "created munzees" and then click over to the Munzee Skin Machine to pick a cool skin. Once I have created my pdf file, I save it to my computer. I take the file from my saved folder and put it on a thumb drive (for some reason, just using the file directly from the skin machine doesn't work as well) and take it to Office Depot with a sheet of Avery Waterproof labels. I hand them my thumb drive and labels and ask them to print using "actual size" selected. If you have access a laser printer, you can skip going to the office store! Very inexpensive, weather resistant labels!

Q: Where do you buy munzees?
A: You can either buy them from the Munzee Store or from one of the Authorized resellers. Munzee store is a good place for credits for virtuals, resorts, etc. You can also buy generic stickers from them. The resellers have different packages of generics to offer than the Munzee store and have some reseller exclusives as well.
Q: What is the difference between a generic and a printed munzee?
A: Generic stickers are any physical code that you obtain from the Munzee store or a reseller and can be used by anyone. So you can share them. Generic Greenies are the only type you can use to repair or replace a missing or broken munzee.
Printed munzees are linked to your account. Only you can deploy them. Be aware that if you scan a generic too close to another and your deploy fails, that sticker will now be linked to your account and only you can deploy it.
Q: How can I find the different types of munzees on my app?
A: Check your filters. The default filter shows only greenies. You can add more physical or virtual filters and, if you are premium, specials filters, by clicking on the filter button at the bottom of your app. If, for some reason, you get signed out of your account and need to log in again, the filters will go back to the default greenie. Make sure you set your preferences again.
Q: Why do some munzees show multiple captures from players, but I can only cap it once?
A: Munzees can be capped again if an expiring special has landed on them. You can only cap them once as the original icon. Evolutions can be capped in each stage. You can also recapture munzees that are in Qrewzee or Sleepzee mode.
Q: How do I know when a special has landed on a munzee?
A: The Specials Map is a great place to check. There are also alert tools that will notify you of specials landing near you.
Q: What is an expiring special?
A: Periodically, Munzee will release a special that bounces from greenie to greenie. Past specials have included May flowers, pinatas, Autism hearts, etc. These are out temporarily for the special occasion. They will be on the host munzee for a specified amount of time or until they are capped. Then bounce to another .Occasionally, MHQ will create specials that turn ALL greenies into a new icon for a short period of time so that they can be recapped. These do not bounce. There are also mythical creatures that bounce every 12 hours or until they are capped or nudged. They they will go to another munzee. Pouch creatures bounce every 6 hours.
Q: How do you cap a virtual munzee?
A: A virtual has no code to scan. You need only be within 300 ft of the virtual, select it on your app and then click the capture munzee. Virtual Resorts have a 500ft cap radius. Emeralds can be captured within a 1500ft radius. POI virtuals depend on the type. You can also purchase Blast Captures from the Munzee store. These will capture up to 100 virtuals within a mile radius with the click of a button. Certain types of virtuals can not be captured with a blast capture including amethyst and surprise munzees.
Q: How do you deploy a Destination Munzee
A: You can not deploy a destination munzee from your computer. You must be AT the location you want to deploy it and deploy it from the app. (See above!).
Ryan Rokey has a video on this procedure.
Virtual vacation Condos and Skylands must also be deployed with the app on location.
Q: What is the munkpak? How do I subscribe?
A: Munzpaks are subscription programs. You will receive a variety of stickers or credits depending on the type of pak you subscribe to. Follow this link to subscribe.
Q: How many points do you need to obtain to reach a level?
A: Here is the point scale for the first 100 levels. Once you reach Level 100, it takes 50,000 pts to reach the next level. After you have reached a million points, each level will take another million points.
Q: How do I add a picture to a mythical creature capture?
A: After you capture the creature, click either on your notifications or go to your "captured munzees" under your profile and select the creature you just capped. Then you will be able to add a picture and or a comment. Unless you specifically select the creature, you will only be adding to the host munzee. If you want to share your pictures with others, consider joining the Munzee Mythical Sightings group on Facebook. Ryan has created this how to video.
Q: What are ZeeOps and how do they work?

You can find more information and sign up for your Ops at www.munzee.com/ops.
