Handwriting

Handwriting is an important skill that children need to learn to be more fluent in their writing and phonics/spelling skills. There IS a correct way to hold a pencil and it does help children to be more successful in their handwriting. There is also a correct way to form each letter. Again, once students get these mastered they become more fluent so that when they are writing they can focus on other skills such as grammar and creativity. When writing students should ALWAYS start at the top or middle line, NEVER from the bottom. Please see videos below for correct pencil grip and correct letter formation.
