Classroom Expectations

Classroom Rules:

Appropriate behavior is expected from every child at all times at Willow School. Willow's PBIS expectations (known as "The Willow Way") are as follows: BE SAFE, BE CARING, BE READY. These expectations are the same as our classroom rules. We work very hard to establish a classroom community that promotes respect and kindness. Our class rules are as follows:

        1. Follow Directions

        2. Respect Others

        3. Make Responsible and Safe Choices

        4. Be Ready

        5. Always Try Your Best

Class Rewards:

Willow Wildcats: Our class receives these from other staff members in the building when our class in "caught" following The Willow Way. When we receive a certain amount of Wildcat certificates our class gets to be part of  school wide celebration.

Willow Wows: Students receive a wow when any staff member catches them being good. These are individual rewards. Student can then use their wows to shop at the Willow Wow Cart or purchase lunch and Wii time with staff members.

Get the Pigeon to the Top of the Tree!: 

The Pigeon really wants a cookie!- When our class has worked exceptionally well together at anytime during the day following the Willow Way and making good choices The PIgeon will move up the tree to get his cookie and our class will earn a special reward (extra recess, pajama day, arts and crafts afternoon, etc.)

Homework:

Homework activities are given because they are useful in reinforcing what has been learned in class, show parents what skills we have been working on, and they teach responsibility. Your child will receive a Home Folder that will be used all school year. One pocket will be for papers to keep at home and the other pocket will be for home activities and any notes that are sent to school and sent home. The middle will have a "Monthly At-Home Activity Page". Please make sure you check this folder each day. I also highly encourage you to have your child read or be read to daily for at least 15 minutes, look for library books to come home as these are usually good read alouds. Please check your child's folder daily. It will need to be brought to and from school on a daily basis.

Lunch/Snack:

Our lunch is scheduled from 12:25-12:45 each day. Since this is a later lunch, we will also have a designated snack time in the morning, so please send a small healthy snack with your child daily.
