Science

In First Grade we teach science using a program called Mystery Science which is aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards. Mystery Science is all about fostering children’s curiosity with mysteries that help students investigate their questions. Each science topic is called a mystery and each mystery falls under a unit of study.

The three units of study we will do this year are:

*Plant and animal superpowers (Life science)

*Light and sounds (Physical science)

*Spinning Sky (Earth and Space Sciences)

Each unit encourages children to ask questions and through investigation, their natural curiosity will turn into a scientific perspective on the world. Through mystery Science we will help your child investigate the mysteries of this endlessly fascinating world.
