Semester 1, Week 1
Assigned: 9-3-14 Due: 9-10-14
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.
Colossians 2:8
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
II Corinthians 10:5
...casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ...

Assigned: 9-10-14 Due: 9-17-14
The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God”. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works. There is none who do good.
Psalm 19
1The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. 2Day unto day utters speech, and night reveals knowledge.
3There is no speech nor language where the voice is not heard. 4Their line has gone out through all the earth and their words to the end of the world.
In them He has set a tabernacle for the sun, 5which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices like a strong man to run his race.
6Its rising is from one end of heaven and its circuit to the other end; and there is nothing hidden from its heat. 7The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgements of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
10More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11Moreover by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward. 12Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults. 13Keep back your servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me. Then I shall be blameless, and I shall be innocent of great transgression. 14Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Semester I, Week 3
Assigned: 9-17-14 Due: 9-24-14
Romans 1:18-21
18For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
14But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for inspiration, for instruction in righteousness, 17that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Semester I, Week 5
Assigned: 10-1-14 Due: 10-8-14
2 Peter 1:16-21
16For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. 17For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 18And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. 19And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Semester I, Week 6
Assigned: 10-8-14 Due: 10-15-14
Isaiah 40:1-8
1”Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” says your God. 2”Speak comfort to Jerusalem, and cry out to her, that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from the Lord’s hand double for all her sins.” 3The voice of one crying in the wilderness; “Prepare the way of the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. 4Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth; 5the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.” 6The voice said, “Cry out!” And he said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is grass, and all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. 7The grass withers, the flower fades, because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; surely the people are grass. 8The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”

Semester I, Week 7
Assigned: 10-15-14 Due: 10-22-14
Exodus 3:14
And God said to Moses, “I Am Who I Am.” And He said, “Thus shall you say to the children of Israel, ‘I Am’ has sent me to you.”
Psalm 121:1-2
1I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? 2My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Semester I, Week 9
Assigned: 10-29-14 Due: 11-3-14
Colossians 2:2-10
...2Both of the Father and of Christ, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. 6As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with Thanksgiving. 8Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Semester I, Week 10
Assigned: 11-3-14 Due: 11-10-14
Colossians 1:15-17,
15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
1 Corinthians 1:18-21
18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” 20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believed.

Semester I, Week 11
Assigned: 11-10-14 Due: 11-19-14
John 1:1-4
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

Semester I, Week 12
Assigned: 11-19-14 Due: 12-3-14
1 Corinthians 3:19
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their own craftiness.”

Hebrews 1:1-3
1God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2has in these last days spoken to us by His son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when he had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high...

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Semester II, Week 2
Assigned: 1-21-15 Due: 1-28-15
2 Timothy 3:1-7
1But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of Life—2the life that was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us—3that whwich we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you may have fellowship with us; and truly your fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
12Now of Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13but if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. 14And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching in empty and your faith is also empty. 15Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up—if in fact the dead do not rise. 16For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. 17And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! 18Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
38For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities not powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Philippians 2:3-10
3I thank God upon every remembrance of you, 4always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; 7just as it is right for me to think this of you all , because I have you in my heart, in as much as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. 8For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. 9And this I pray, that your love may abound still more in knowledge and all discernment, 10that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ.
Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb: “I am the Lord, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens all alone, who spreads abroad the earth by myself...”

16Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Semester II, Week 8
Assigned 3-18-15 Due: 4-1-15
Genesis 1:24-27
24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
Semester II, Week 9
Assigned 4-1-15 Due 4-15-15
Psalm 8
To the Chief Musician. On the instrument of Gath. A Psalm of David.
1 O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
4 What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
7 All sheep and oxen—
Even the beasts of the field,
8 The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth!
These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.
Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea.

Psalm 139:13-16
13 For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.
