Every week or two, assignments for extra reading or viewing will be posted here. You will be responsible for understanding and being able to use the information you are given. You should keep either print outs or notes from reading, watching, or listening to each of the assigned articles or sites in your notebooks, listed by week, in the section designated for it.

Internet Adventure #1: due 9-17-14
Read the list of 11 Things to Remember When Reading the Bible found here. In the Internet Adventure Section of your notebook, take notes, and label them with the title and author of the article and the date due.

Internet Adventure #2: due 10-1-14
Find The Briefing by Dr. Albert Mohler here. He is the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is a careful worldview thinker. He does a podcast 5 days a week, where he summarizes major news events from a Christian perspective. Listen to one of these podcasts for each of the next two weeks. Record the date of the day you listen to the podcast under the heading of "The Briefing, Albert Mohler". Take notes on each. Each episode runs about 20 minutes. Feel free to listen more often, but you only need to record two days' worth.

Internet Adventure #3: due 10-15-14
For each of the next two weeks, listen to one of the messages from the 2006 Desiring God conference which you will find here. The conference that year was about the supremacy of Christ in a Postmodern world. All of these talks are available in audio only, and last from just under an hour to an 90 minutes, depending. Choose two (one for each week) that look interesting to you. For each talk you listen, record the date you listen to it, the speaker's name, and the title of the talk, then takes notes of the most important points as you listen.

Internet Adventure #4: due 10-29-14
For the next two weeks, tune in to some episodes of "Renewing your Mind" from Ligonier , the teaching ministry of R. C. Sproul, found here. In the top right you will find a list of recent broadcasts, either in audio or video format. For your first week, choose one video (45-60 minutes) or two audio (25-30 minutes). Listen or watch, and record the date, title, names of people interviewed, and/or important points. Repeat the process the second week, watching one video or listening to two audio broadcasts that interest you.

Internet Adventure #5, due 11-10-14
For each of the next two weeks, return to the Desiring God Conference site found here. Browse the various conference topics and messages. Choose one message each week that is of interest to you. Take notes and place them in the Internet Adventures section of your notebook.

Internet Adventure #5, due 12-3-14 (Last adventure of Semester 1)
Two times over the next three weeks, visit the website of The Gospel Coalition here. Poke about in their resources, and fine two articles, poems, videos, etc. of interest to you. Read, watch, or listen, and take notes.

Semester 2
Internet Adventure #6, due 1-21-15
Head over to the new podcast site at Summit Ministries found here. Choose two different episodes that sound interesting to you, listen, take notes, and place notes in the internet Adventure section of your notebook.

Internet Adventure #7, due 2-11-15
Browse the video or audio lecture titles over at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. Choose one of interest to you. Watch it, and record the notes in your notebook.
N. B. The lectures vary in length from 20 to 90 minutes or so. Choose one of an appropriate length for your own schedule.

Internet Adventure #8, due 2-18-15
Head back to the Intercollegiate Studies Institute and choose another lecture to enjoy. Take notes in your notebook.
N.B. This will be the last of your internet adventures for this year from Mrs. Finnegan. Mr. Thomson will be assigning all your work beginning in March, with the exception of your book reports. Mrs. F. will still be grading those. And she will be administering your final exam as well.
