Outbreak Physician
While the Physician's workload is seemingly less than the other two team members, much of what is required of the Physician is research into the possible diseases plaguing the community. Diagnosing each of the patients takes time, and careful assessment of lab reports shared with the group throughout the unit will help this team member ultimately determine the main disease in order to create the pamphlet to inform citizens.
Develop a plan to prevent the spread among people in the community.
The patient log should be created in a table format, and should include the following: Case #, Patient Name, Gender, Age, Symptoms and Diagnosis.
Creative formatting is a must, as is a prominent title for the log using Word Art or another application. Create a PowerPoint slide for your group presentation with this information, highlighting the diagnosis for each of the 15 patients.
Once the Physician has successfully diagnosed the patients, and determined which disease the majority of the patients have, the Physician will need to create a document outlining a plan of how to prevent the spread of the disease throughout the community. The Outbreak book has basic information, but it will be necessary to search the internet for additional information about how to keep the rest of the citizens in the town free from infection.
Develop a pamphlet to educate about the disease
The citizens of the community are very concerned about the outbreak, and look to you, their Physician, for answers. Utilizing the Outbreak book and other internet resources, you will create an informative brochure outlining every aspect of the main disease. The citizens want to know what causes the disease, what are the symptoms, how can they protect themselves and what medicines you would prescribe. Inquiring minds want to know EVERYTHING!!!!
This symbol denotes the task that will be included in the Group PowerPoint. The Physician will be expected to explain this aspect of their project thoroughly to the class.
