Because our Canvas courses are online, your assistance at home overseeing your son/daughter's activities and assignments will be a critical component in their success. Helping to make sure appropriate progress is made on lessons, and encouraging and observing them during their assignments each week will help your son or daughter be more successful.
NOTE: As this course has been built from scratch by Mrs. B, (bringing together a lot of wonderful resources) I’m hoping you, the parents, will help me improve this course throughout this year. I’m relying on the wonderful parents to help me find my mistakes, bad links, anything that doesn’t work etc. Additionally, if you find a cool resource you think we could include, please share!! Parents can sign up for a Canvas account, as an observer, which allows them to link their account to their student's account so they can see assignment due dates, announcements, and other course content. Observers can view the course content but cannot participate in the course. Follow the instructions below to create your account:

and choose "Parents sign up here": During the sign up process you will be asked to enter your name and your email in addition to a student pairing code.
This code needs to be generated from your son or daughter's Canvas account.

To generate the student pairing code, click account, and then settings:

In the right side of the screen you should see a menu which includes "Pair with an Observer"
Click the Pair with Observer button.
Copy the Pairing Code, and paste it into your parent observer account sign up page in the student pairing code box.

The pairing code will expire after seven days or its first use.
To close the window, click the OK button [2].
Note: Pairing codes are case sensitive.
