Brown Bear Salmon Cam

The amazing story of  Winter the dolphin was highlighted in the movie Dolphin Tale.  This brave young dolphin was found stuck in a crab trap, and the damage to her flukes was so great that they withered away...leaving just a stub.  Her journey adapting to her prosthetic flukes has inspired many amputees worldwide!  Unfortunately Winter passed away, but we still can enjoy many other rescued marine animals housed at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida.

NEW!!!  This cam is located in a Barn Owl nesting box in Temecula, CA!  Keep an eye on this beautiful pair of owls, as the female is sitting on EIGHT wonderful eggs (incubation 31-32 days and the first egg was laid on January 18th)!  When the owlets hatch we should see a lot of activity...especially at night when they are active and  feeding.  Begin watching for a pip the week of February 17th.

Located on Hanson Island in British Columbia..this cam is active in the summer and fall monitoring Blackfish Sound.  Keep an eye out for the resident Orcas, Stellar Sea Lions, and even a Humpback whale or two!

Orca Lab Base

This famous location, not accessible to the public, is very shallow, and the bottom is covered with small smooth stones.  The Northern Resident Orca Community brushes their bodies on the smooth pebbles in the shallow water...IF you happen to see Orcas here consider yourself VERY lucky!

Rubbing Beach on Hanson Island

Located in Alaska's Brooks River in Katmai National Park, this cam features a location where Brown Bears arrive to feast on the largest Sockeye Salmon run in the world.  Bears can be seen from mid spring until the fall, but tune in from late June through late July to see the Sockeye Salmon run which draws in some of the largest bears in the area!! Katmai's brown bears are most active during the day.  This camera will show highlights during the off-season.

*  The first link is for the American Eagle Foundation's Eagle Cam, which is located in NE Florida, and is the home of  Gabrielle and Beau. Beau is a brand new eagle to the nest, and is just learning how to be a dad.  We will begin watching for nesting activity at the end of the year.  

   *  The second link is for the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam, and they also began nesting late in the year.

*  The third link is for our local Big Bear nest, Jackie and Shadow.  Their nesting pattern is different from the eagles on the east coast.  We will be watching the progress of their nesting season this year.

Happy Birthday little ones!!!  Lun Lun the Giant Panda gave birth to twins on the morning of September 3, 2016!  The keepers are carefully swapping out the newborns, only the size of a stick of butter when born, as they did last time she gave birth to twins !

The amazing Mote Marine Aquarium in Sarasota Florida has a Manatee Cam featuring their manatees Hugh and Buffett.  According to their website,"You can find them munching on their lunches around noon daily—they eat 72 to 84 heads of romaine lettuce each day!".

The Platypus is an amazing creature!  They are one of only a few species of mammals that lay eggs!  This new exhibit is set up to mimic their natural environment, and is dark during the day because these animals are nocturnal (active at night).
