At 2:10 into the video he has you putting the loose ends through the knot that you have created. IF you were going to try to add a bead, you would have to thread it onto the loose ends before you place them through the knot. Then...as you are tying your square knots, you would have to figure out where the middle of the knots will be on your wrist, and tie one of the square knots around the bead.
