Sonal is a resident of Pune and received her Master’s in Biotechnology from Abasaheb Garware College, Pune University. For her Master’s thesis she worked in Dr. Ashok Giri’s lab at NCL, Pune. In Dr. Giri’s lab her work included expression of Capsicum annum proteinase inhibitor and its incorporation into an emulsion for application against Helicoverpa armigera, a polyphagous agricultural pest. She is interested in applying her biotechnological skills in the field of nanomedicine.

Scholarships: UGC NET-2012, GATE 2012

Research Interest: Understanding the nanomaterial-cellular interaction.
