Marin, Alexander
Alexander Marin was born on September 30, 1958. He was a student of Oleg Tabakov’s. Marin was one of the founders of the legendary Moscow "Snuff-boxes', but also the founder and artistic director of one of the most prominent theater companies in Canada, Theatre Deuxieme Realite (Theatre Second Reality). At the Moscow Art Theater he directed "Duck Hunt", in the theater Tabakova - "Idiot," "Sandman", "Sublimation of Love",“Empire of the Stars”, and "A Streetcar Named Desire" for which he won the Grand Prix for the best performance of 2006 at the All-Russian Festival Amur Autumn. In Tokyo, he is widely known for his work with the Japanese movie star Komaki Kurihara ("Mother Courage" and "Antony and Cleopatra"). New York audiences were able to see his production of “Macbeth.com” and “22 88 Seagull." But the greatest number of his plays were produced at various theaters in Canada, among them were "Uncle Vanya", "Master and Margarita", "The Winter's Tale," "Hamlet," "Chamber №6", and others. He is a faculty member at the Institute of Advanced Theater Training at Harvard University. He teaches at the National Theatre School of Canada, MAT and five other universities in the US and Canada. He participated in many prestigious theater festivals and tours in Europe, America and Japan. He is the author and director of his own plays:. "Silence 2", "28-28" and "The Gospel of Salome" in June 2006 staged "Tram" desire "(Moscow theater" Empire of Stars "). Honoured Artist of Russia (1993).
