Adding EasyBib to Google Drive

I am a huge supporter of students using Google Drive. First, it is free. That means that students don't need to continually upgrade to the newest version of Microsoft Word or Apple Pages. Second, it allows access to documents from any computer with an internet connection. You can work on documents from home, from school, or even when you are on vacation. Thanks to Google Drive, you don't need to carry around a flash drive anymore. Third, there are no compatibility problems. In other words, your teacher can read what you have written no matter what kind of computer they have. If you use Microsoft Word or Apple Pages, your teacher needs to have the same software installed on their machine in order to read what you wrote.

Imagine if you could get a video game that would play on any gaming platform. Right now, if you buy a game that runs on an X-Box, you can't play it on a PS4. If you used to have a PS2, none of your games will work on a PS3. Suppose I told you that you could get a game that would work on any game console you own, used to own, or might own in the future. Would you want to buy it? Now suppose I told you that it was free! So far as I am concerned, Google Drive is a no-brainer.

Most kids have a hard time with bibliographies. There are a million rules, and there are several different types of bibliography formats. Some teachers will ask you for a bibliography in MLA format. Others will ask you for APA format. The last thing you want to do after spending weeks researching and writing a research paper is to have your grade go down because your bibliography is in the wrong format! Luckily, there are websites like EasyBib and BibMe that create a bibliography for you.

If you have created a bibliography using EasyBib by following the instructions in another section of this Online Textbook, then you know that there are a lot of steps to follow and some of them are confusing. Now, there is a simple way to add Easybib to your Google Drive. You will be able to add a bibliography automatically to any document!

Instead of trying to explain this step by step, I'm providing a link to a video that shows you how to add EasyBib to your Google Drive and how to use it. You should open your Google Drive in one window and the video in another. Then, you can follow along with the instructions in the video. Once you have added EasyBib to your Google Drive, it will be there waiting for you to use it anytime you need it! As a bonus, the video also shows you how to access Google Scholar (the best search tool for research) right from your Google Drive document. Don't wait! Do it now!
