2014 Actual number of maternal deaths (province-wide)
Source: DOH RO9/MDR
Projected Live Births for 2014 = 110, 409
Actual MD for 2014 = 60
Using Projected LB as denominator approximate MMR for 2014 61.58 (for validation)
Livebirths for ZDS – from 17782 to 18202
Livebirths for ZDN – from 19504 to 21344
Livebirths for ZSI – from 13198
Place of Delivery:
Home – 9 out of 30; RHU – 3 out of 30; Hospital – 17 out of 30
Place of Death:
Home – 7 out of 30; In transit – 2 out of 30; and Hospital- 21 out of 30
For ZDS:
Sominot deaths are all home deaths. A 34 year old woman, G7P6 who has chronic anemia. Delivered at home. And a 29 year old, G3P3 who died due to post partum hemorrhage while on transit to the referring hospital.
Kumalarang deaths are all hospital deaths due to hemorrhagic shock/ massive bleeding (2) and pre eclampsia. One is a 41 year old G6P6, another one is 24 year old G2P2, and a 21 year old woman G1P1. Two are high risk pregnancies.
Labangan deaths are hospital death and 1 death while on transit. One death, of a 23 year old woman, who attempted to undergo abortion died at the hospital due to pulmonary edema secondary to severe anemia secondary to incomplete abortion.
The other one was due to post partum hemorrhage. A transient from Cotabato City, who visited her relative in Labangan, and decided to deliver in her relative’s care thru hilot.
Dimataling death is due to placenta previa. High risk pregnancy. A G5P4.
Tracking of actual deaths helps spike the data
