This is the story of Ann, an adopted child whose search for love and belonging was haunted by echoes of her past. She was adopted at three months old by Rana, a loving mother who longed to give an abandoned child a home. When Ann’s adopted father died of a heart attack at a young age, her behavior changed. She became prone to conflict, and her futile search for love brought her and her adopted family to a breaking point.
Ann traveled to Hyderabad with my niece, Subhi, with the intention of undergoing a past-life regression. My typical practice is to try to resolve the issues through conversation, as regression can be unpredictable. However, Ann's deep-seated questions about why she was abandoned and betrayed and her frequent outbursts of temper led me to agree to a regression.
On February 6, 2012, in our Kali temple, I guided Ann into a meditative trance. To my surprise, she immediately began to see a vivid light, a rare occurrence in a first session. The light morphed into the flame of a candle, and she was plunged into a 4D cinematic experience of her own past lives.
Her first experience was that of a 17-year-old girl in a red and yellow lehenga. She was running in terror through a dark forest, pursued by a masked man with a knife. He had been a drunkard and was enraged after a fight with her. He stabbed her four times in the back as she pleaded for mercy. He then dragged her body to a lake, where a massive crocodile, drawn by the smell of her blood, pulled her body underwater.
Ann felt the pain of the stab wounds and the terror of her death. I had to guide her to detach from the experience and simply observe it. Afterward, she analyzed her experience, connecting it to her current struggles: "I get stabbed in the back again and again for nothing. Maybe, if I had let the man be, or walked away I would have become free."
After the first traumatic death, I guided her to the next life. She was a 22-year-old college girl in a foreign country, driving a Ford Ikon in the cold. She sped down the highway, listening to loud music, when a huge truck with wooden logs crashed into her car. The car flipped, and her back was broken. She was left stranded and in immense pain.
A young man on a black bike came to her rescue. He managed to pull her from the car but, thinking she was dead, laid her down in the cold forest and left her to die alone. Ann felt the pain of the crash and the despair of being abandoned. She again made a connection to her present life, noting that a similar accident and her fear of highways have been present in her dreams.
In her third experience, Ann was in the womb of her biological mother. To her shock, she heard her mother express hatred and a desire to give her away to another family. She was born and taken to SOFOSH, a home for abandoned children in Pune. There, a woman in a BMW adopted her. Ann saw that her new family lived in a huge mansion, but her new father was not happy about her arrival.
This last experience was the most agonizing. Ann said she had no words to describe it. It was the moment she understood her deep-seated fear of abandonment and her inability to feel truly loved.
After the three agonizing experiences, Ann was exhausted. Before ending the session, I asked her to forgive everyone she had met in her past lives. Faces of the people in her visions rolled through her mind within the flame, and she was able to forgive them all.
The pain from her past lives manifested physically in her present life. For the past six months, she had been suffering from a deep, boring back pain that prevented her from dancing or doing yoga. The same pain returned during her regression experiences, confirming the connection between her past-life trauma and her current physical pain.
After the session, Ann was in a deep state of thought, and I was in a state of astonishment. We had dinner, and she immediately fell asleep, but Subhi was unable to sleep the entire night. This first session was a powerful confirmation that the problems of the present are often echoes of the past, and that healing requires facing the pain that has been carried across lifetimes.
The next morning, Ann and I began our second regression session in my spiritual clinic. I tried to regress Subhi first, but it was unsuccessful. I then turned to Ann and began giving her Reiki, and I felt an unusual heat emanating from her body. Once again, she saw the flame of light, which soon transitioned into her next past-life experience.
Ann's fourth regression was both touching and heartbreaking. In her vision, she was a young girl walking on a beach with her father (Baba). They were speaking in Bengali, and she felt a sense of peace and love. She chided him for his old, dirty clothes, but she was happy just to be with him. They walked into a dark cave, where she suddenly lost him. She ran out, crying and terrified, searching for him along the beach. I guided her to leave her body and look for him from above.
She found him in a hospital, where he was having a massive heart attack. Through a window, she watched as his heart monitor flatlined. His soul then came to her and took her to a calm, white expanse. She saw her father sitting with her uncle and grandmother, all of whom had passed away. Her father told her that he and her grandmother were protecting their home from legal troubles. When she asked why he left, he simply smiled and disappeared.
In her analysis, Ann expressed regret that her father's death and the subsequent family legal issues could have been avoided if he had taken better care of his health. She later saw her father's soul reborn as her cousin, a boy who has been very close to her ever since.
The evening session took place on the top floor in the Kali temple. Ann once again entered a trance and saw the flame of light. In her fifth experience, she saw a vision of her future: she was marrying a handsome Dubai-based businessman. She had doubts about the man, and her fears were soon realized. Her husband had a drinking problem, and when she tried to stop him, he pushed her down the stairs. Once again, she felt a sharp pain in her spine, in the exact same spot as her past-life injuries. He locked her in a room, poured kerosene on her, and set her on fire.
As she screamed, feeling the pain of the fire, I told her to get her soul out of her body. The burning sensation subsided. This experience, which she believed was a vision of her future, showed her that her judgment and choices in men had been wrong in the past and continue to be so.
In her final experience of the day, Ann saw herself as a golden Labrador puppy with a pink ribbon. The puppy was loved and cherished by a little girl and her mother. This vision was a stark contrast to her previous traumatic experiences.
At the end of the session, the faces of everyone she had yet to forgive appeared to her. She was overwhelmed by the traumatic visions, especially since they occurred in the Kali temple. She refused to continue the regression, unable to bear any more of the painful memories. The physical and emotional pain she experienced in her regressions, particularly the recurring back pain, was a powerful confirmation of the connection between her past lives and her present-day suffering.
On February 8, 2012, Ann was convinced to have another regression session in the ground-floor clinic. The session was short, but it was a blessed one. After seeing the familiar light, she had a vision of Devi Ma Durga with her lion. Ann saw the goddess's third eye open, sending energy to her. The lion, a massive creature, circled her twice and then sat by her side. Devi Durga assured her that she would protect her from all enemies. This experience was deeply calming for Ann; she was so happy that she wanted to get a cub of her own.
That evening, Ann was reluctant to meditate in the Kali temple again due to the previous traumatic experiences. After some persuasion, she agreed to seek Ma Kali's blessing one last time. During the session, Durga Ma appeared again, telling her, "I am leaving my Lion with you. It will protect you from my enemies and I will guide you toward a good life... You are blessed!!!" The goddess smiled and disappeared, leaving the lion behind. Ann felt a sense of protection and peace.
Ann reflected on her love for animals and how she would rather be an animal than a human because of the complications and problems humans create. The regression brought up intense feelings of pain, anger, and frustration. She saw the faces of her enemies and felt a desire for revenge, believing they should feel the same pain they had inflicted upon her. However, she realized that she was overcoming her fears and weaknesses. The experience taught her that she must face her enemies with disdain and fight back to truly be free from their influence.
Ann has been meditating regularly and chanting the Durga Chalisa, but she's overwhelmed by the constant messages she's receiving. She saw a vision of a blue and red fire on either side of her, which then turned completely red. She was told this signifies that Devi Durga herself is coming to their home and will stay until May 17th. After this date, Ma Kali will arrive to continue her healing. The messages were so powerful that they blocked the healing channels of SS, a practitioner of pranic healing.
Ann was told she will be tested, possibly through an accident, and that she has to take care of specific animals for protection: a fish, a tortoise, a German Shepherd, and a Labrador. The fish is meant to relieve tension, and Ann's mother was instructed to meditate in front of its aquarium. Out of the ten fishes they started with, five have already died. The tortoise, on the other hand, is meant to solve the family's financial crisis.
Ma Kali will give Ann a dagger for protection, similar to the lion that was left with her. The goddess lives in a red cave with peculiar animals like crocodiles and prefers only red and black. Ann was instructed to tie a red thread around their home to ward off negative energy and to keep a dragon that produces fire.
Ann was instructed to place photographs of her enemies underground. Ma Durga is using this ritual to send them different colored energies—black, which turns to green, and finally purple. The goddess is also healing a "deep hole" in Ann's heart and advised her to break old things or hit a wall to channel her anger.
Ann's maternal grandmother, who is emaciated and unable to talk, is not dying because she has to bless her brother's marriage. Ma Durga showed Ann several clocks that reveal everyone's age. Her grandmother's clock showed that her time is up. The goddess also suggested that Ann's family should look into a person named SB from Delhi as a potential groom, but he is not listening.
Ma Durga is also healing Subhi and her husband, who recently had blood tests. Ann's mother is worried about the constant demands and is afraid of repeating past mistakes. She believes that a past error in their spiritual practice led to several deaths in their family, and she is concerned about a recurrence.
Rana, Ann's mother, provides a heartfelt and insightful analysis of her daughter's complex personality. She describes Ann as a person of contrasts: someone who is both reckless and kind, domineering yet craving affection.
Rani's analysis highlights several key aspects of Ann's behavior:
Impulsivity and Recklessness: Ann acts on impulse, often leading to self-harm. She's aware of the potential consequences but seems unable to stop herself. This recklessness is a manifestation of her inner conflict.
A Contradictory Nature: Despite her self-destructive tendencies, Ann is described as a kind and generous person, especially with children and animals. Her ability to connect with these "uncomplicated" beings suggests a desire for simple, unconditional love that she struggles to find in her relationships with peers.
The Struggle with Friendship: Ann craves friendship but has a hard time keeping it. Her domineering nature and excessive demands on others cause friendships to break. Rana believes this behavior stems from her teenage years when she was heavily influenced by her peers. To avoid being dominated again, she now overcompensates by becoming domineering herself.
Emotional Fragility: Ann is emotionally fragile and finds it difficult to deal with complex situations. She prefers uncomplicated relationships, which is why she finds solace in the company of children and animals. This also explains her lack of interest in the "rat race" and her contentment with a simple life, as long as her need for love and affection is met.
Rani believes that Ann's current behavior is a direct result of past traumas, both from her present life and her previous lives, which were revealed in her regressions. The regression experiences confirmed her pattern of feeling "dead inside" after experiencing betrayal and abandonment. The recurring back pain and other physical ailments are manifestations of these emotional and psychological wounds. Ann's journey is one of healing, where she must learn to find balance in her relationships and face her fears to truly heal her past and present wounds.
Ann, the adopted child you worked with, has been experiencing a difficult and disturbing spiritual attack. She called to report that her connection with Devi Ma and Kali Ma has been severed. (6th May 2012)
Ann is now being visited by duplicates of Devi, who appear well-groomed and give negative advice, urging her to commit suicide by getting hit by a bus. These demonic forces have also killed her spiritual protector, the Lion that Mother Durga had given her. Instead of seeing the divine light she experienced during her regressions, Ann now sees only darkness. (18th Oct 2012)
However, Ann believes that she is not entirely alone. She told you that because she regularly recites the Hanuman Chalisa, Lord Hanuman has not left her. This suggests that her consistent devotion to him is providing a shield against these malicious forces, even as her other spiritual connections have been compromised.
Ann's spiritual troubles seem to have ended. All the demonic forces that were tormenting her and impersonating the goddess have been cleared away during the recent Navaratri festival.
The Devi has returned to Ann, accompanied by her protective lion. The post states that Ann kept a lamp and prayed throughout the nine-day festival. This act of devotion seems to have cleansed her spiritual space, allowing her divine protectors to return and clear away the negative influences that had caused her so much distress.(27th Oct 2012)
During this time, Ann received a message that Ma Durga has a rare, large black lion. Ma Kali wanted Ann to perform more serious pujas for her, and to emphasize her point, she disappeared for two days before returning. I advised Ann to perform Kali Puja regularly from that point until Diwali. (4th Nov 2012)
Upon returning from Delhi after a PG Diploma in Rehabilitation, I have been receiving guidance from Lord Ma Kali. She has given me a powerful energy that is turning my silver ring into gold, an alchemical transformation that makes it impossible for me to wear.
The high energy is also affecting my crystal necklace, which is turning blue and causing itching. The goddess has told me that my body is not yet ready to handle this level of power. This experience is a testament to the idea that spiritual energy can have a tangible, physical effect on the material world. (5th Feb 2014)
Upon my return from Guwahati, I received a call from Ann, who was now living with her brother in Delhi. She needed to talk about a series of horrifying events.
Shortly after moving into a long-closed two-room apartment, Ann had a strange accident where a BMW ran over her foot. Her brother also fell ill for two weeks. When they opened one of the rooms, a foul odor filled the air. Inside, they found a temple near the toilet, covered with a red cloth. Ann, happy to see it, cleaned the room and the temple. In another corner, they found an old suitcase covered in a black cloth.
Soon, the house began to haunt them. They heard abnormal sounds of people talking, and a glass of water fell off the table on its own, not just once, but twice. The situation escalated one night when Ann was alone. Her blanket slipped off her bed, and when she pulled it back, it slipped away again. She looked up and saw a middle-aged woman with no eyes, wearing a sari and staring at her. The woman's feet were turned backward. Terrified, Ann tried to call for help, but there was no landline, and her mobile network was gone. She managed to jump out of bed and rushed to the drawing room, turning on the TV for comfort.
When her brother returned, they were too scared to sleep and stayed awake all night. The next morning, Ann saw a shadow of someone walking outside. A black cat fell from the third floor, making a frightening sound, and then followed her to college. The college doors seemed to close on their own, trapping them inside.
The attacks became more personal. At home, Ma Kali's photo was scattered, and a protective coconut wrapped in red cloth was found opened. The next day, the same thing happened, and the coconut was found outside the house.
The paranormal activity reached a terrifying climax when blood drops began to fall on her books. When she tried to meditate, the ghost tried to enter her body from her back, her weakest point. She felt a chilling cold as the spirit touched her and insisted that she commit suicide within three days, telling her that "her grave is ready."
The landlord's son had also experienced similar events. Ann's brother confirmed seeing someone walking outside. It was revealed that there was a property dispute between the landlords and that the other brother's wife was performing black magic from Durgapur.
Ann then had a message from Ma Kali. The goddess told her that this ordeal was a test that Ann had passed. She was now ready to have her revenge by allowing the goddess to enter her body and kill the woman who had performed the black magic. Ann chose not to, but she was told to share her story with everyone. She thanked Ma Kali for the experience, which had strengthened her. She has since returned to Delhi. (5th Feb 2014)
