Boston 2nd alarm on Althea St - partial transcript

I was listening to BFD Channel 2 only

FAO - reporting people on floor 2 - OK sought from L6 L7 R2

E18 - fire showing 3rd floor of 3 family - E18 is Command

FAO - tells E18 people on flr 2

FAO - Cr8 on scene (probably on Ch 1) - in command - told people on flr 2

FAO - again tells L6 and L7 that people on flr 2

L6 - OK

Ldr 7 open up - to car 8 - floor 2 is clear

Cr 8 - L7 check floor 1

Ldr 6 open up - "Ladder 6 Open Up to Command" - "Command answering" -

"first floor is clear" - "OK on message"

0754 AM - Cr 8 - "ah, orders of Chief XXX, a second alarm"

Cr 8 to FAO - ladder go Whitten to Althea - Adams to Whitten to Althea

FAO - gives L29 the order

someone - "in basement" - "say again" - "no smoke in basement"

Car 8 - there is smoke in stairwell on floor 1, need someone to check that out

0756 AM - Car 8 reports that top floor is fully involved

20 pump has own hydrant - 20 ran line off 18 - 20 ran line to B side -

FAO relays messages

(L29 bring ground ladder)

0808 AM - C7 at scene in command - Car 8 is (now) Ops - Z1 is Interior

and reporting to Ops

Z1 = 2nd alarm chief

Cr7 is Accountability Chief

Ldr 23 + Cr7 were RIT initially

Cr9 arrived at fire and was told to go to Everett for training

Since the dispatcher was talking about trapped people, there was not

the usual calls for lines to be charged

Several times there were doubles bvetween field units and the

dispatcher, but since she is duplex, she handled it with absolutely no

problem
