Its great when everything comes together - training - equipment - determination
-------------------------------------
My only question - not to be a negative Nelly - but if I dont post the
question now, I will forget to post it later - question is - when was
ALS dispatched? - typically Boston EMS only sends 1 BLS unit and 1
superviosr to fire boxes - either ALS was sent when people were
reported as trapped, or later, or maybe when fire showing was reported
by BFD?

radio traffic from BFD Ch 2 at this fire - 2nd was transmitted at approx 1644
per my mighty scanner - this is an abbreviated transcript - not word
for word - but close
1646 - "Fire Alarm" (dispatcher) to Command (Incident Commander) - L7
is RIT Ladder
1646 - FAO (dispatcher) sends W25 to the fire
1646 - Ldr 7 called Command (Cmd) - no reply
1646 - Cmd to FAO - request EMS to front
1646 - FAO tells Cmd to "say again"
1646 - Cmd again requests EMS to front
1647 - 18 Pump to 18 Portable - ready for water?
1647 - 18 portable yells 1 word
1647 - "18 Pump to 19 Portable, repeat that"
1648 - 18 Pump to 18 Portable, want water?
1648 - 18 portable yells 1 word
1650 - FAO to Command - Z1 is 2nd alarm chief + Car 6 is Accountability
1651 - Ct at scene and in command
? 1652 - ? Cmd reports 2.5 wood frame
1653 - H1 at scene
1655 - some company tells Command that primary on Charlie side floor 1
and 2 is clear
1658 - Z1 is at scene
1658 - under control per Command
=========================
Note - if they used direct at the scene, I would not have heard them -
I dont think they used direct at this fire
==============================
=
Note - there was only 3 or 4 tactical messages
- Cmd requested EMS - that could / should have been automatic by FAO
- Ladder 7 requested orders - no orders given
- Engine 18 pump wanted permission to charge line - permission never given
- primary on side C was all clear - this message was received by
Command with no problem but I think the fire was pretty much killed at
that point
Looks like a 66% failure rate on tactical message
