I AM ADDING SOME INFO IN CAPITAL LETTERS - MORE INFO NEEDED - ANYONE ?
- ANYONE ?
Fire department fireground radio channel usage - Boston Massachusetts area
Boston - responding units go to a repeaterized dedicated fireground
channel with a dedicated dispatcher who can receive and transmit at
the same time
Medford - stay on primary repeater channel - UNKNOWN IF DISPATCHER IS DUPLEX
Everett - stay on primary repeater channel - UNKNOWN IF DISPATCHER IS DUPLEX
Revere - stay on primary repeater channel - UNKNOWN IF DISPATCHER IS DUPLEX
Malden - go to a simplex fireground channel (153.83) - no direct contact with
dispatcher I think
Chelsea - go to FG simplex channel - IC might go to Tac channel
Arlington - supposed to go to Ch 2 - rarely do - dispatcher can
neither receive nor transmit on Ch 2
Brookline - ? go to simplex on output of primary repeater channel -
DISPATCHER CANNOT HEAR SIMPLEX CHANNEL (probably)
Newton - ? go to simplex on output of primary repeater channel -
DISPATCHER CANNOT HEAR SIMPLEX CHANNEL (probably)
Waltham - stay on primary repeater channel - UNKNOWN IF DISPATCHER IS DUPLEX
Salem - stay on primary repeater channel ?
Peabody - go to output of primary repeater channel but dispatcher can
hear them and talk to them
Lowell - stay on primary repeater channel - UNKNOWN IF DISPATCHER IS DUPLEX
Lawrence - stay on primary repeater channel - UNKNOWN IF DISPATCHER IS DUPLEX
Somerville - go to Ch 2 which is a dedicated fireground repeater
channel with a dedicated dispatcher however the dispatcher cannot
receive and transmit at the same time
Cambridge - go to one of two dedicated repeated firegound channels (Ch
14 + Ch 16) with a dedicated dispatcher, who can receive and transmit at the same
time (I think) - CH 13 + CH 15 CANNOT BE HEARD BY THE DISPATCHER - CH
13 + CH 15 ARE APPARENTLY THE OUTPUT CHANNELS OF CH 14 + CH 16
Worcester - go to a talkgroup with a dedicated dispatcher who possibly
can receive and transmit at the same time - unknown if any simplex is
used
Lynn - go to a dedicated simplex FG channel (153.80) - the dispatcher
can receive and transmit on this channel (BUT NOT AT THE SAME TIME OF COURSE)
Nahant - go to 154.37 for fireground ops - dispatcher apparently talk to them - however, nearby Marblehead has a repeater on this channel
Concord - had a three alarm house fire - everyone used the primary channel (except the Lexington Engine used Ch 2 483.7125R when responding to a different call in Concord) - Feb 2010
