Lewiston-Altura opened its 2015 campaign with a 61-7 victory in Medford on Saturday. It was a rare afternoon game due to impending storms moving in that evening. The game started out as less than a sprinkle for the Cardinals as they turned the ball over 3 on three consecutive possessions after an opening TD drive. The floodgates opened with 6 minutes left in the first half as the Cardinals scored 27 points in those 6 minutes to take a commanding 33-0 lead into the half. The second half started same as the first as the Cardinals marched for a TD on their opening drive of the half and continued to pour it on as they finished the 3rd quarter up 61-0. The Tigers were able to put a score on the board late for the final 61-7 tally.
The Cardinals head home next week to face the Hayfield Vikings on Parents' Night.
