Lewiston-Altura rode a strong defensive performance to shut out Fillmore Central 35-0 to move to 3-0 on Friday night. It was L-A's first shut out since September 29th, 2006. L-A held Fillmore Central to 45 yards of offense in the first half while jumping out to a 28-0 lead. Jackson Reibel led the way for the defense with 12 total tackles. Mitch Rasmussen also turned in a solid performance with 7 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss. He also blocked Fillmore Central's first punt setting up L-A's second score of the game.
On offense, Sheldon Knutson again led the Cardinals with 115 yards on 9 carries. Hunter Moe had a solid night with 7 carries for 47 yards and one score. Nate Reps completed 7 of his 14 attempts for 124 yards. Jay Sommers hauled in the longest past of the year thus far with a 70-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter.
L-A will face Kingsland on Friday in their final non-division game of the year.
