SAS students show Elementary what Le Conte has to offer

A big thanks to our 7th grade Leadership students who act as tour guides: Nathaniel D., Omari D., Julio D., Emily F., Franchesca MS., Brissa R., and Maria S. Thanks also to Ms. Lester for giving a presentation about the SAS program, Mr. Hass and students for demonstrating what our band has to offer, Mr. Dziepak for showing how awesome our LEGO Robotics and Science Olympiad teams are. We look forward to some Road Runners & Tigers becoming Le Conte EAGLES.

Battle of the Books brings home awards

Congratulations to Karen M., Leah P., and Cesar M. for representing Le Conte SAS. They spent months reading 30 pre-selected books, perfecting their knowledge so they could answer all types of questions. Cesar M. and Leah P. brought home first place trophies in the "skittles" competition. A huge congratulations to Karen M. who was medaled as one of only four students that have competed in Battle of the Book for 3 years! Now that's perseverance.

SAS takes 1st place in Pi Day Memorization competition

Yatziri L. recited 136 digits of Pi during the Pi day memorization contest. Several other students represented SAS and all did a great job!

SAS students also took first and second place in the Pi Scavenger Hunt.

Congratulations to our Eagles (Amanda F., Shelsea F., Karen M., and Vivian R L. for completing the 2015 LA Marathon! After training all year, students ran 26.2 miles from Downtown LA through Hollywood and ended at the beach. An amazing performance for Amanda F. coming in 82nd in her division.
