Field trips are an integral part of the learning process and the SAS experience at Le Conte. Field trips allow students to make connections between classroom learning and the real world. In addition to curricular field trips, SAS students have the opportunity to visit local universities each year.

Each year SAS students students have the opportunity to visit one of southern California's top universities: UCLA or USC. Students have the opportunity to attend an information session, take a campus tour, and eat lunch at one of many campus dining options.
High School Field Trips
Choosing the right high school program is a big decision for 8th graders. To help students learn more about their high school choices and high school life, all 8th grade SAS students visit local high school campuses and attend high school information sessions.
6th Grade Field Trips
Getty Villa: While learning about the cultures and history of Ancient Rome, students get the chance to travel back in time to a reconstructed Roman villa filled with ancient art and artifacts. The Getty Villa in Malibu is a very unique Southern California experience and always a favorite of students.

8th Grade Field Trips
Griffith Observatory: After finishing the astronomy unit in 8th grade science, students hike from Le Conte's campus to the Griffith Observatory! While at the Observatory students have a chance to check out exhibits, the gift shop, and cafe before viewing the planetarium show.
Grad Night at Six Flags Magic Mountain: Six Flags closes the park to everyone but graduating students on this special night. Along with other Le Conte students, SAS students board the school bus for a night of fun, short lines, and no parents!
