GCU is committed to providing all students with the opportunity to fulfil their potential. The Student Wellbeing team at GCU can provide advice and information that can help you make the most of your university experience, including training and access to assistive technology. To see their range of services and to make an appointment go to their website.
The Disability Service, which is part of the Student Wellbeing team is offering a range of classes in assistive software for ALL students. One them, Read and Write Gold, operates as a toolbar that can assist you with your reading, writing and research skills. The software allows you to develop literacy skills and enjoy greater independence. Mind Genius is a mind mapping software that can help with planning your study or organising your work. Smartphone Apps for tablets and phones offer a wide variety of useful assistive technology apps to help support learning and teaching.

The LDC is here to help you, too. You can access academic support materials including help with note taking and time management. If you would like an appointment to discuss your academic support needs or to work on a specific academic skill, please book an appointment, or contact us.
Please note, all of our Academic Development Tutors (ADTs) are able to provide support for students with additional needs. Sometimes, you might see the same tutor for a follow up appointment if you and the tutor both decide you need another session relating to a single piece of work or academic skills issue. Otherwise, if you make another appointment, you may find another ADT helps you.
Dyslexia Scotland's website (opens in a new tab) has information about events, networks and support groups. The Glasgow Adult support group meets regularly at Strathclyde University.
