How to learn at Uni
Top tip
Take control. Where are you supposed to be and when? Do you know your Academic Advisor (who they are and what they can do for you)? When are your assessments due? At school or college you might have lots of people reminding you of these details. At university, the responsibility lies with you so make sure you find out and keep a note of the details.
Keep a diary. This might be on your phone, as a hardback book, as a planner on your bedroom wall, whatever works best for you. Just make sure you have your timetable to hand and stay up to date as things change through the trimester and year.
Regularly check your university email account or make sure your mail is forwarded to the one you wish to use.
If there is anything you don’t understand, ask. Look on GCULearn for more information, email the tutor or ask one of the university’s student mentors.
