Sculpture 1: Foundations Essentials

Sculpture 1

1 Semester 2 Credits

In this 2-credit Semester course, students will be introduced to the vast world

of sculpture. We will look at master artists and use some of the common skills

and techniques these sculptors used. Students will use media such as wood, wire,

cardboard plaster, paper mache, clay and found objects to create their own works.

The principles of three-dimensional design will be considered as the students create

a variety of expressive and personal works. Critical analysis will be an important

aspect of looking at student work
