Directions for Etched Mug

Complete:

1. Mug Shapes: Record 3 different shapes of cups that you like. Look in ceramic book called 500 Cups for ideas. Sketch them out and be sure to cite title and page number!! They do not have to specifically be etched cups, just chosen because you LIKE the overall shape which could lead to an etched idea….soJot down a sentence under each one as to why you like them!

2. Sketch out careful Negative / Positive Etched Designs: Look through decoration books for ideas and sketch out 2 pos /neg patterns like the patterns below. You may alter the design to incorporate your own image, but base it on something you have seen.Use a ruler to carefully separate each repeated pattern evenly. Don't forget to cite the book you used and the page you got the design from!
