Ap Studio Art Portfolio Course Objectives and Essentials

AP Studio Art Portfolio/ Art 3

4 Credits Open to Grades 11 and 12 1 year

Course Essentials:

Through ongoing assignments, you will have the opportunity to experiment with many materials and techniques. As a class and in one-on-one conferencing, we will engage in a good deal of critical analysis as we refine the quality of our work in both breadth and thematic concentration. Time is devoted to individual assessments, group critiques, and project related discussions.

This advanced placement course is intended to be challenging as it leads you towards self-discovery and a sense of artistic competence. There will be a heavy homework obligation in order to meet the college board requirements. By accepting this challenge you will gain a sense of accomplishment and self confidence as you come to make sophisticated decisions in your work backed by an emerging technical command of materials and an increased ability to articulate the significance of your art to others.Pre

Finally!

1. Respect academic confidentiality. Do not ask others about their grades.

2. This is a weighted course and the grade scale has been adjusted accordingly.
