Il Checco è nato in un piccolo paese della bassa ferrarese, nelle vicinanze dei lidi di Comacchio. Da sempre affascinato dalla vita calma e solitaria ha scoperto da pochi anni la fascinosa quiete che solo una pipa sa donare ad un uomo.
Ha conosciuto Marta nel febbraio 2011, da tre anni è diventata sua moglie; ed è proprio qui che nasce anche l'amore per la pipa: già da qualche tempo pensava di acquistarne una ma quello che lo ha spinto a compiere il passo è stato l'entusiasmo di sua moglie nei confronti di questo oggetto elegante ed antico.
Così durante il “campeggio di nozze” in Toscana andò in una tabaccheria e acquistò la sua prima pipa, una Stanwell Viking. E con il matrimonio lasciò alle spalle il piccolo paesino del ferrarese per trasferirsi a Desenzano del Garda.
Il primo tentativo di costruzione della pipa risale a poco meno di un anno fa... ahimé gli riuscì abbastanza decentemente e così si mise d'impegno e d'allenamento, scoprendo man mano nuovi metodi di realizzazione anche grazie ai tanti video di Mastro Grandolfo.
Nelle sue piccole creazioni ama usare quasi esclusivamente le sue mani. Quel che pensa è che non userà mai il tornio, ma questa è solo una sua personale prerogativa. Ama dar da vedere la pura artigianalità del manufatto, con i suoi pregi e anche i suoi minimi difetti: perché a suo avviso la parte poetica ed il pregio della pipa è insito anche nelle minime asimmetrie.
The Checco was born in a small town in the lower Ferrara, near the shores of Comacchio. Always fascinated by the calm and solitary life he discovered a few years ago the fascinating tranquility that only a pipe can give to a man.
He met Martha in February 2011, that in three years became his wife; and it is here that comes even love for his pipe: He have reflected for much time over which type of pipe choose. But what prompted him to take his first pipe was the enthusiasm of his wife over this item elegant and ancient.
So during the "wedding travel" in Tuscany went into a tobacco shop and bought his first pipe, a Stanwell Viking. After the wedding he left behind the small town of Ferrara to move to Desenzano del Garda.
The first attempt to build a pipe goes back to a little less than a year ago ... but alas! the first pipe was made enough decent. From here so began commitment and training to discovering new methods of implementation thanks also to the many videos Mastro Grandolfo .
"In my little creations I like to use almost exclusively his hands. What I think is that I don't want use the lathe, but this is only for his actual personal prerogative. I love give to see the pure craftsmanship of the hand made, with its advantages and also its minimum defects: because in my view, the poetic part and value of the pipe is inherent also in her minimal asymmetries."
