These versions of tamagotchi have a different case size than any other tamagotchi. They also have a unique layout of buttons and set of icons. the buttons consist of a directional or "D" pad and an enter and a cancel button. The D bad replaces the original button used for scrolling through options. This feature is very useful when one is entering names and codes but most of the time is not used to its full extent. The icons, from left to right, top row, are health meter, class roster, english class, math class, and science class. On the bottom row, they are connection, item use, friends and family, shop, and attention icon. The idea of this tamagotchi is that you are raising a school of characters instead of a single character.
You start with about six children and you have to raise the rating of your school in the three subjects you teach (english, math, and science.) This causes students to come to your school. They then consider whether to join. If while they are deciding, your other students are unhappy, they possibly might ignore your school. Once you have gained ten students, your schools level goes up. The object is to get to the highest possible level, all the students, and 999 points in the rating of all three subjects.
Games are a very important aspect to the Tamasuku. They are how you raise the rating of your subjects, how you earn gotchi points which enable you to purchase items from the store, and how you make your students happy. There are six games, two for each subject.
For english, the first game is a puzzle game which due to being in Japanese, is very hard to score high on. The second game is a library game, where you have too serve the tamagotchis but avoid putting out books for the robbers to steal. You use the d pad to move across the counter and the enter button to put out or take off a book.
For math, the first game is a calculator game. (Don't worry, you don't have to do any math!) You have to use the d pad to move the calculator across the bottom and catch the numbers in the correct order from one to nine three times, just avoid the poop. The second game is a game where a coin moves back and forth above a piggy bank with one opening the size of the coin. You have to stop the coin with the enter button when it is directly above the opening.
For science, the first game is a lab game. You have to tip the small beakers full of potion towards the large beaker and the small beakers full of poison away from the large beaker before the smaller beakers hit the workbench. The second game is in my opinion the best of the six and one of the highlights of the tamgotchi. In it you have to move your butterfly net in all directions using the D pad until it is over the moth which is trying to fly away. Once you have it over the moth, press the enter button to catch the moth. You only have to catch six, but I still haven't caught the sixth one after a year of playing. This is the only game that fully uses the D pad.
