Explaination of Icons

Health Meter Icon:

This Icon is used to check how your pet is doing. You can see how happy and hungry it is and how many happy items it has on the first screen. On the second screen you can see how many gotchi points it has and how many lottery/ raffle tickets it has. On the third screen you can see its character name, gender, age, weight, and generation.

Food Icon:

Once selected, the screen displays two options, meal and snack. The meals each fill one rice bowl on the health meter when eaten. The snacks fill up the happy meter one line of pixels at a time when eaten. The meals make the weight go up 1 gram and the snacks make it go up 2 grams. If you feed it too many snacks, it will get a toothache so be careful.

Toilet Icon:

When the tamagotchi has pooped you will see it as a slightly orangish triangular pile on the right hand part of the screen. If you select the toilet icon, a brush will pass down the right hand part of the screen from top to bottom and your tama will be happy. If you catch it right before it is about to poop, it will be shown with squiggly lines around it. Quickly while it is in this state, select the toilet icon and it will be shown on the toilet in the bathroom.

Door Icon:

On the tamagotchi color the games icon is replaced by the door icon. This icon allows your tamagotchi to go places outside of its house.

Games:

The first option on the list is the game center, where you can play games.

There are three possible games, Apple Catch, Card Match, Balloon Shoot.Apple catch is similar game to Get except that you have to catch the apples and avoid the worms.

At the beginning of Card Match you are shown the layout of all the cards. One of them will be a skull card. If you select this one during the game the game will end. You have to match all the pairs before the time runs out. In the last 9 seconds a countdown is displayed.

In Balloon Shoot you have to shoot three stationary balloons over and over 15 times but avoid shooting the balloon that floats up and down in front of them. Another of these balloons is added after the 9th set is shot.

Store:

The second option of the door icon is the store.

At the store your tamagotchi can purchase items and foods. These items and foods, once purchased, never run out. At the store you can purchase:

  • Tea

  • Blue Popsicle

  • Yellow Transit Pass

  • Magnifying Glass

  • Telescope

  • Shirt

  • Guitar

  • Handkerchief

Carpenter Shop:

Here you can remodel any room of your house to any style.

The styles include Normal (original state of the whole house), Traditional Japanese (1000 points), Mountain Hut (1500 points), Cool (2000 points), and Royal (3000 points.) Here is a page with links to pictures of all the possibilities.

Playground:

Here you can meet with friends without having to connect.

The other character talks to your character and they may then play a game or they may just gossip. If it is the morning, it will be Repotchi and in the evening it is Turtlepedia- Sensei but during the day it can meet its friends and play games. The possible games are:

Lottery:

This is the place where you can use your lottery tickets to win prizes including the grand prize, a purple watering can. You get lottery tickets by buying items at the store or Tama Depa.

Once inside you are asked if your want to participate in the raffle or not. The top option is yes, the bottom is no. If you select yes, the two attendants will turn the lottery machine and a colored ball will come out. The ball will open to reveal an item.

Match Maker's:

This option is only available when your tamagotchi is at least 5 years old. When you select it you will visit the matchmaker's love hut and she will show you a potential partner. You can refuse the partner as many times as you like but it doesn't matter who you choose. I am superstitious and like to mate with good care characters just in case. Once you have said yes to a partner, you will see them kiss and the screen will go dark with fireworks. Next you will see your adult tamagotchi with the baby. If it is pink it is a girl and if it is blue it is a boy. The adult will play with the baby for a minute but you will not be able to press any buttons. The baby will then get sleepy and the adult will say goodbye and take off. As soon as it has left, the baby will wake up and look around for its parent. It will cry and call for attention. A new generation has started.
