The version 4 is closely based on the Japanese Entama. Both have skill points, chracter groups, school, a job, and an online world. The specific games and jobs are different from the Entama and the Version 4 cannot cook like the Entama. There are three main skill point types and three corresponding character groups.
There are five Version 4 games. One becomes available in the baby stage, one in the child stage, three in the teen stage and none in the adult stage. The first game is called Jumprope and it is played by pressing the B button to make the tamagotchi jump over the rope.
The second game is called Mimic. In it, you watch another character scroll through several positions then freeze in one. Now your tamagotchi scrolls through the positions and you have to press the B button to stop on the same one as the other character. If you do this successfully two times out of three chances, you have won a round.
The next game is Shape. In Shape you press the B button the scroll through a sequence of shapes. When it matches one descending on the right or left press the A button (left) or the C button (right) when you successfully match 30 shapes without letting one descend all the way you win the game. This game gives you Intelligence points.
The fourth game is Dance. In it there are three circles above your tamagotchi's head. When one (or two) are filled you must press those buttons. This game is very hard and goes on for a long time. It gives you artistic points.
The last game is Flag. This game is shared by the Version 3. In it your tamagotchi is holding two flags and you have to raise them as indicated by the arrows above your tamagotchi's head. This game gives you Social points.
