Osutchi and Mesutchi

These tamagotchi were released in Japan in December 1997. Osutchi and Mesutchi are boy and girl (respectively) tamagotchi designed especially for mating. They are the first tamagotchi with connection ability however it was not done through infra-red connection as later versions used but through a physical connection. Their tops can be taken of and connected and information is transferred through this connection, allowing them to mate. They come as a set and the Osutchi unit is blue and the Mesutchi unit is pink. They mate twice with three generations in total before they have to go back to their home planet (die.) The characters in this version are all new and over half were reused in later English versions.
