Welcome to Kuchipatchi's Tamagotchi Information Website! This is an interesting and fun site with lots of information about tamagotchi that will help you discover its potential and take better care of it.
The purpose of the tamagotchi virtual pet is to raise a cute creature, also known as a tamagotchi, through several evolutions. The object in the original version of tamagotchi was to make the tamagotchi live as long as possible before it dies, but in later versions it is possible to breed new generations of tamagotchi.
Appearance
The tamagotchi is a virtual pet contained in a small, egg-shaped unit shaped measuring about 5 cm by 4 cm. It has three buttons on the front and one reset button on the back. It makes a restricted range of sounds in the form of beeps when the buttons are pressed and to call for attention, announce
an event, or during a game. Some tamagotchi have aerials on the left side. This was originally added for the purpose of communicating with cellphones but after that version (the Keitai) it became purely decorative.
One can take care of the creature by feeding it when it is hungry, playing games with it when it is unhappy, cleaning up its waste, disciplining it when it is naughty, giving it medicine when it is sick, and turning of the lights when it goes to sleep.
Eight icons are displayed, four at the top and four at the bottom, to assist you with this. Six of these are for the functions I just listed, one is a health meter that tells you what the tama needs, and one is an attention icon that lights up and the unit beeps when the tamagotchi wants something.
Many different versions were made including one that uses infra-red communication to "connect" to other tamagotchi units. This is called the tamagotchi plus in Japan and the tamagotchi connection (or connexion) in English versions. There are two major types of tamagotchi, Japanese Tamagotchi and English Tamagotchi.

Also, I have made a page with links to some of the sites that I got my information on. Some of them are very big and even have information on other types of virtual pets. To go to my links page, click here. I also have made a page with general instructions for starting up a new tamagotchi.
