Stage 18 (4th Ed): Eutychus et Clemens

Culture: Glassmaking in Alexandria, Egypt; Egypt before and during the Roman Empire.
Story Line: Clemens, for whom Quintus has bought a glass store, is harassed by Eutychus and his gang for refusal to pay protection money. He is saved by a cat sacred to Isis, whose devotee Clemens becomes.

Objectives: Students will be able to:
- Explain the 2 rules for neuter nouns (nom/acc look alike; nom/acc plural end in "a")
- Explain the 3 characteristics of nouns and 6 cases of nouns along with their basic functions.
- Reproduce case endings for nouns in all 5 declensions (all cases and genders) within 1.5 minutes, orally and in writing. Emphasis on the newly acquired 4th-5th Declensions.
- [Add the appropriate endings to Latin nouns and adjectives (1-5 decl.) to make them fit grammatical function and agree in case, number, and gender. ]
- Read, comprehend, and translate Latin words, sentences, and stories in Stage 18.
