Rob's Kids Receives $1,000 at Kiwanis Holiday Dinner

Our Boone County Club celebrated the Holidays with a "socially spaced" dinner at the Tousey House Restaurant on December 22nd. Thanks to Meijer, Inc, Florence, we were able to present Rob's Kids two $500 Gift Certificates. Accepting for Rob's Kids was Barbara Keeling, Board Secretary at Rob's Kids. KCBC President-Elect Chris Sturgil presented them on December 22, 2020

Adopt A Family for Salvation Army

Kiwanis Boone County made deliveries on 12/14/20 to the Salvation Army of N Kentucky of a Donation Check and Christmas gifts and supplies of meals for two "Adopt A Families". May our diligence allow two families plus others have a better holiday season. We are so pleased all our members pitched in and provided time, effort and presents and food to help out our Salvation Army.

Salvation Army Bell Ringing

Were ringing the Bells for Salvation Army December 5th. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Boone County and the Ryle High School Key Club in front of Kroger's on RT 18. And Rudolph joined us too.

Pitching In With GO Pantry

November 12, 2020 - Members from the Boone County Kiwanis assisted GO Pantry pack Go-Boxes and Go-Meals. We went to the GO Pantry Office Warehouse in Florence for over two hours to prepare food distribution for children and students for the Thanksgiving Holidays coming up.

Installation Dinner at the Tousey House

We held our annual Installation Dinner October 27th. Wes VanWinkle, Secretary of the Boone County Kiwanis, and also Lt. Governor for Division 10 of the KY/TN Kiwanis Organization awards our new Leadership Team for 2020-2021.

Passing the Gavel

The last meeting for our Kiwanis Club of Boone County for the Year ending September 30th, 2020 was held at LaRosa's Restaurant in Florence this past Tuesday. President Sue Kozlowski presided over her last meeting as President. At the end of the Meeting in-coming President Steve Sturgil presented her with a Kiwanis Plaque for her year of service of 2019-2020 to Kiwanis, the Kiwanis Club of Boone County, and most important to helping the children of Northern Kentucky. Sue "passed the gavel" to Steve. His term of President officially begins October 1, 2020.

August 2020

Celebrating Our 5th Year Club Anniversary

Many of our Club members and friends including the Kentucky Tennessee Lieutenant Governor Anette Eades shared our festive event on August 25th. The evening included a great dinner prepared by Member Barbara Scott. We turned "5" officially on August 18th. Thanks to members and everyone else who has supported the children in Northern Kentucky and we at the Boone County Kiwanis Club.

July 2020

Our Fourth Annual Signature Wine Tasting Dinner was a success! Brianza Winery was our host for the Tasting Event featuring Wines representing Cruises, River or Ocean, from around the World or in the US. We went on a tour of Cruises and saw pictures from ship and boat cruises out of Spain, and the Danube, Rhine and Columbia Rivers.

Beth Long, Director New Day Ranch, an institution for assisting kids using Horse Therapy, received a check for over $1250 raised primarily by Brianza Gardens and Winery during their June Wine Walk hosted by Boone County Kiwanis. Deb Trip Parnigoni, co-owner of Brianza, was on hand to present the check as Steve Sturgil Treasurer and walk event coordinator, looks on.

Next President Sue Kozlowski presented the 2019-2020 Ryle High School Key Club Scholarship Award of $1,000 to Ms Lily Lown. Lilly will be attending Northern Kentucky University this fall and majoring in Biology and Medicine. Lily served as President of the Key Club this past years and has been a Kiwanis Key Club member for three years.

June 2020

Kiwanis Boone County held our first meeting June 23rd in over two months at LaRosa's in Florence without Zooming. We social distanced and several tables were closed in our room. We had 11 members attend and we were so glad to see each other again while exercising safety measures.

We went on a guided 2.5 K Wine Walk hosted by Brianza Gardens and Winery and Tony Parnigoni. We sampled grapes and yummy wines and cheeses as we strolled on a beautiful day. During our Wine Walk, we gave attendees a chance to get the New Day Ranch "experience"!

March 2020

Our Kiwanis Club of Boone County steps up to help GO Pantry provide meals and Easter Egg treats for kids in the community. We delivered a $1500 donation to Beth McIntyre for meals at a time when supplies are running short due to Covid-19. Thanks to Kiwanis for making good things happen.

February 2020

Our February 25th Boone County Kiwanis Club evening meeting had plenty of guests attend...KT Governor Kendra Skidmore, GO Pantry Director Beth McIntire, and members from the Campbell County Kiwanis Club. We were celebrating Mardis Gras too!

Kentucky Tennessee District held their semi annual Conference in Lexington, KY February 28-29 at the Embassy Suites Hotel. We had five members attend this event. Meetings, training sessions, and a general meeting including awards....we won an Award from KT for our Excellence in Newsletter Publications and were recognized for outstanding achievement gains in membership for the past twelve months.

Our members John and Mary Schoener and Wes VanWinkle represented the Kiwanis Club of Boone County at the Serve & Socialize Fair. We met some wonderful folks and helped spread the message of all that Kiwanis does in the local community.
