Our Meetings
The Kiwanis Club of Boone County Meeting is held at the Boone County Main Library Library, 1786 Burlington Pike, Burlington, KY 41005.
Our meetings occur the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.* We have interesting speakers, discuss agendas and projects, enjoy friendship, share meals, and much more. Won't you please come and join us!

GO Pantry and Packing Holiday GoBags
December 17, 2025
Wednesday morning at GO Pantry. We had such a great time packing food bags for kids of Northern Kentucky! Nine Kiwanis Boone County Club members and 20 other volunteers packed GO Bags for school kids maybe not getting meals during the holidays. We spent two hours at GO Pantry's warehouse.
Salvation Army's Kettle Bell Ringing

Bell Ringing for the Salvation Army is a yearly event for us. Both Boone County Kiwanis and the Ryle Key Club participated in raising money for a worthy cause. It was a snowy day, but so many people contributed for the families of the Salvation Army
Ghost Wine Walk
October 24th, 2025
Our 3rd Annual Ghost Walk at Brianza Winery for Mentoring Plus. It was the "thrill of a life time“ We offered an incredibly fun time visiting locations on the grounds where "strange occurrences" were explained. With a glass of wine in hand, a guide will take you to locations on the property holding Northern Kentucky ghost stories.
Little Pantry and Free Library Sites Launched
September 2025
Our Kiwanis Club of Boone County built a Little Food Pantry and (Little Library, for used books) at one of 3 locations for underprivileged kids in Boone County. This is the first one set up, thanks to Jean Metzger O'Hara and Gene, and Douglas Keeling for having the ideas and building them for our community. We have donated food for this project thanks to members, providers and Ed Nicewicz, with Champion Food Service! First site is near Florence Elementary School with more sites coming near Collins Elementary School too.
"Hollywood – The Glamour Years"
A Success!
Kiwanis had a successful fundraiser September 12, 2025 at Brianza Winery!! Such a fun event!! We had 60 folks relive Hollywood history of the 40s, 50s, and 60s. Kiwanis Boone County rocks.
We were supporting GO Pantry and Camp Corral primarily along with the Kiwanis of Boone County.

Ryle Key Club Senior Awards Night

Our Ryle High School had their Senior Honors Night program. The Kiwanis Club of Boone County presented our Scholarship Award of a $1000 Scholarship to Senior Key Clubber Aidan McManama by Advisor Rachel Wallen, member Alexis, and Stephen Sturgil, Club Board Member and past Key Club Advisor.

Mentoring Plus - Syndicate

Boone Kiwanis supports Mentoring Plus. They help challenged high school kids with mentoring and guidance. Their fundraiser, Seeds of Hope, was held Friday, April 25th. What fun! Kids from Mentoring + gave testimonials about the difference in their lives M+ has made.
Bunny and the Brunch

We had our Fourth Annual Fundraiser for the benefit of the New Day Ranch and the Ryle Key Club. Thanks to everyone who made this a success! You met the Easter Bunny, had Brunch, went on an Easter Egg Hunt, plus saw an actual "petting zoo" too!
The setting is perfect! New Day Ranch is a working Ranch featuring Horses, Alpacas, Goats, Pigs, and Sheep. And of course, a visit from the Easter Bunny!
Mentoring Plus "Mentoring Session" Dinner

Helping the Kids at Mentoring +. We prepared an evening meal for their Mentoring session of about 15 at their new location at 825 Washington Ave, Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church. Baked Ziti, salad, cupcakes and drinks.
Ryle High's Key Club Celebrates
Key Club's International 100 Years of Activity March 19, 2025
March is the 100th Anniversary of Key Club International. The Ryle Key Club founded in 2016 will be celebrating at their March 19th meeting with a "Thank You" including treats from Kiwanis Boone County. Kiwanis' Key Club Advisor Rachel Wallen and President Aidan discussed upcoming plans for the Bunny and Bruch Egg Hunt in April on the 5th. Everyone enjoyed the cake!

BUGs Launches at Florence Elementary
We began our second BUGs (Bringing Up Grades) at Florence Elementary School in Florence, KY. Jean O'Hara, teacher at Florence Elementary and our Kiwanis Club of Boone County member will receive incentives and mentoring from our Boone County Club to achieve grades improvements over the next 5 months.
Salvation Army's Kettle Bell

Kiwanis Boone County each year pitches in and helps out Salvation Army. On December 14, 2024 we "manned" the Kettle at Kroger's. So many happy faces, kids and adults, made contributions to a great cause. Our day began at 9:45 am and continued through 6:00 pm. Rudolph , as usual, is always a big hit for picture taking and passing along that Holiday Spirit.
Salvation Army's "Adopt A Family"
Our members also selected a family through Salvation Army's program which enables a family they select to have an even more memorable Christmas. We delivered on the same day to the Salvation Army facilities contributed clothing items, toys, gift cards, and even Christmas treats. These were distributed to one of a special number of families.

Tousey House Restaurant
Our Kiwanis Club of Boone County's annual Holiday Dinner Tuesday at the Tousey House Restaurant located in Burlington, KY. Our special guest speaker was Captain Wanessa Moore from the Salvation Army. She gave us an inside look at Salvation Army...we gave her a $150 donation and around 20 attended.
As well, Past President Doug Keeling was awarded recognition to being a KY Colonel by New President Sebastian Torres.
Meijer Stores Presents Kiwanis Boone County With Donation

Kiwanis Club of Boone County was picked by Meijer Stores to be recipient of a $5,000 donation so we can help our kids organizations we support. Meijer, out of Grand Rapids Michigan has been so very supportive of Kiwanis and the organizations we help. Kiwanis Boone County Attends Governor's Dinner

Scott County Kiwanis Club hosted the Annual Governor's Dinner for Governor Claire Couch. The dinner was held in Lexington at the Sedona Taphouse Restaurant on Newtown Pike. Treasurer Doug Keeling attended the event. Governor Couch was guest speaker and reminded everyone of the importance of Kiwanis and the goals for the KT District for 2024 and 2025. Kiwanis Boone County Celebrates Halloween Night Out

At the Thomas More Stadium – Home of the Florence Y’ALLS, Kiwanis Boone County joined it to help participate in the City of Florence Halloween Night Out - 2024. We were invited by Mayor Aubuchon to make this year’s event the most SPOOKTACULAR yet! Thanks go out to Community Trust Bank and Rachel Wallen - President and Kiwanis Member and our members who joined in.
Fall Ghost Story Wine Walk at Brianza

Halloween, mystery stories, Brianza Gardens, Mentoring Plus, Kiwanis Boone County, wine walk and smores. What an interesting Saturday evening. Erie stories abounded. Brianza Winery's Tony Parnigoni helping Mentoring Plus and their Director Chris Saunders and Kiwanis! What fun we had! And there's one tour just like this next Saturday evening 10/26/24 at 600 pm.
Look What's New for 2024 Ryle High Key Club Members!
Thanks to Ryles's Key Club Partner, the Kiwanis Club of Boone County and to the generosity of partner Community Trust Bank of Florence, Key Club Members of Ryle High School will receive a Club Shirt with the Key Club Insignia. They will have an "official" Key Club Shirt to proudly wear.
Packing GO Boxes at GO Pantry

Kiwanis Club Boone County helps yet again with GO Boxes Packing for children. On Wed 9-25 we had 8 Kiwanians packing boxes and pitching in to make a difference. Thanks to Rachel, Community Trust Bank, Pat, Chris, Wes, Doug, Mary Beth, Lida for making a difference!
Boone County Club Goes Sailing

Boone County Kiwanis going sailing on a BB Riverboat. Fun and Business! We had our last official meeting of the Kiwanis Year 9-24-24 on the Belle of Cincinnati Cruise. We had dinner, conducted or last meeting and awarded Service Awards to Chris Sturgil, Steve Sturgil, and Dougla Keeling. As well our new President for 2023-2024, Sebastian Torres received the "passing of the gavel" from retiring President Doug Keeling. Fun and great experiences!!!

Thanks to the generosity of so many who donated needed supplies for the coming fall year, we collected supplies for kids at Ryle and Boone High Schools
We had drop off locations at Community Trust Bank and Florence City Hall and donations from friends and members. Doug Keeling and Sebastian Torres, members delivered the supplies.
Kiwanis Boone County Attends KT DCON

Boone County Kiwanis attended the Summer DCON Conference Meeting in Gatlinburg, TN. President Doug Keeling and Kiwanis Key Club Advisor Margaret Lee represented our Club at this event. Plans for the 24-25 Year were reviewed including Membership Drives and the role of Kiwanis in the community.
Our Club helped provide gifts for the East Tennessee Children Children's Hospital service project which was spearheaded by the KT District too!
Our KCBC Club was awarded a distinguished honor for the 23/24 KT District Newsletter Award. President Keeling shared the Award with our Klipper Newsletter Editor Steve Sturgil at our KCBC Meeting August 13, 2024

We delivered a donation of over $2000 to GO Pantry's Beth McIntire, Lori Ford and Nhien Lange at our Tuesday evening club meeting. GO Pantry helps feed over 3,000 hungry children in the Northern Kentucky area.

New Day Ranch's Manager Maggie Bulhmer received a donation check from Boone County Kiwanis Club's President Doug Keeling. This was part of a "matching donations" program. New Day Ranch provides an equine therapy program for children in the area.
Reliving the 60's and 70's Kiwanis Style Dinner Fundraiser

We had our 8th Annual Wine Tasting Dinner at Brianza Gardens and Winery in Verona. Our Theme was “Reliving the 60’s and 70’s Kiwanis Style". This was a fun evening of reliving all the Memories of the “1960’s and 1970’s! Some dressed in period attire. Prizes were awarded for the best dressed man and woman. We shared wines and had a fantastice dinner remembering the fun times of those days! The Wine Event was primarily for the benefit of GOPantry and Camp Corral. Almost 60 folks joined us! BUG's Comes to New Haven Elementary

A BUG's Ice Cream Social for Grade School kids at New Haven Elementary in Florence KY. We had over 50 children participate in our Kiwanis BUG's (Bring Up Grades) program throughout the 2023 - 2024 Year there. This were their final rewards along with prizes from during grading periods throughout the year. Congratulations students and Mrs. Susan Hartman's class and Jean O'Hara, Kiwanis Advisor for BUGs. Kiwanis Club members Steve and Chris Sturgil and Barb Klosinski serve the treats along with Teachers Aid Tiffany.
New Day Ranch Donation Presentation

Great day to be a Kiwanis member from Boone County. Thanks to our Bunny and Brunch and Brianza's Easter Egg Hunt, we were able to present a donation check for a total of $3,000. Accepting for New Day Ranch equine therapy was Beth Long, CEO, Maggie Kinney-Bulmer, Manager and Tim Guilfoile, Board Member. Deb Parnigoni, Brianza and Doug Keeling, President, Chris Sturgil, VP, and Steve Sturgil, Treasurer, all from Kiwanis, shared the presentation.
Easter Walk / Fundraiser a Success

New Day Ranch is supported by Brianza Gardens and Winery. Thanks to the generosity of our members the Parnigoni’s, we held an Egg Hunt Fundraiser for New Day Ranch Easter at 2:00 PM. Over 80 attended this fun event. Prizes were awarded and music afterward by Dave Lewis.

Brunch with the Bunny a Great Success

What a fun time! We served almost 90 breakfasts at the New Day Ranch in Verona on a beautiful, cool morning. Easter Egg Hunts, a Petting Zoo, a visit with the Horses, Pictures with the Bunny, Silent Auction Items galore and a chance at a week's stay in Dollywood contest to boot. All this as a fundraiser for the New Day Ranch and to help out the Ryle High School Key Club. Thanks, if you were there. If not, see you next year!
Kiwanis Club Boone County Receives Awards from KT District

The Boone County Kiwanis Club received three awards at KY TN District Conference held in Lexington, KY March 1- 2, 2024. One award was for Superior Club Reporting in 2022-2023. Thanks go out to Steve Sturgil and Pat Yannarella, Secretaries. Second one was for our Club Brochure / Memory Book displays headed up by Steve. The third award was for being a Kiwanis Distinguished Club for 2022-2023 thanks to our Club! Congrats to the Boone County Club.

At Salvation Army Kettle Bell Ringing with Kiwanis Boone County at Krogers Rt 18. So many folks contributed. And Rudolph arrived too! And Captain Aaron Moore, head of Salvation Army and Ryle Key Club members too. Hundreds of folks contributed to our two kettles! A Merry Christmas to all!
GO Pantry Receives Kiwanis Donation
Kiwanis Club Boone County awarded a donation to GOPantry from our recent "Mardi Gras" fundraiser in September 2023. Laura Dumancic and Beth McIntire attended our evening dinner Meeting on 10/24/2023 to receive a donation of $1750 for the great service GO Pantry provides in helping hungry kids in N. Kentucky with meals.

Kiwanis Boone County held our biggest fundraiser of the year. Brianza Winery was ready for our big event 70 folks coming out for a September Mardi Gras Party, Bluegrass style! We received a huge thank you to our Club from all for hosting our Mardi Gras themed benefit on Friday night! A lot of hard work went into this beautiful night benefitting Camp Corral and GO Pantry. We are so grateful for the support of GO Pantry and all our guests and Sponsors who attended.

We had over 80 folks at our "Third Annual Easter Egg Hunt " fundraiser for the New Day Ranch and the Ryle High School Key Club. Kids met the Easter Bunny, went on an Easter Egg Hunt, met some Horses and other Animals at the Petting Zoo, and had a yummy Pancake and Burrito Brunch. We were at the New Day Ranch Horse Farm setting 1 mi East of I-71 Rt 14 Exit near Verona, KY.
Roaring Twenties Fundraiser a Success

"Remembering the Roaring Twenties" get together Friday Evening at Brianza, Our Kiwanis Club had 75 folks for Dinner, Wine Tasting and music and dancing the Charleston. What a hoot!

The Kiwanis Club of Boone County bestowed on Mr. Tony Parnigoni, Brianza Gardens and Winery owner an Honorary Membership because of his duty and dedication to Kiwanis and the children of Northern Kentucky. Mr. Parnigoni has enabled numerous Fundraisers for organizations we support including Mentoring Plus, New Day Ranch, and GOPantry. Thanks Tony for your caring and loyalty to Kiwanis.

The Kiwanis Club of Boone County hosted a truly fun event. We had over 70 folks, adults and children, come to the New Day Ranch for a visit with the Easter Bunny, go on an Easter Egg Hunt, have a yummy breakfast and stop by to say "hello" to the animals in the Petting Zoo and have a chance to go home with some wonderful gift baskets.

BUGs Launched at New Haven Elementary
We began our BUGs (Bringing Up Grades) at New Haven Elementary in Union, KY. Mrs. Hartman's third grade class will receive incentives and mentoring from our Boone County Club to achieve grades improvements over the next 5 months. The first grading period is complete and a presentation of gifts went out to the students. The class wanted "Smelley Markers" as their first gifts! Way to go Mrs. Hartman's Class!!!
