December 2019

Our Fourth Annual Breakfast proved to be a success again. Thanks everyone! Applebee's in Florence is where Santa stopped on December 14th 8:00 am. We had Pancake Breakfasts, met Santa and had wonderful Silent Auction Baskets. This was for the benefit of GO Pantry and the Ryle High School Key Club. Nine Ryle High Key Club members did a great job in seating, serving and general tidying up the restaurant!

November 2019

Captain Aaron Moore from the Salvation Army in N Kentucky visited our Club on November 26. Captain Moore shared with us the Salvation Army Goals for the Christmas season of 2019 as well as his new leadership role of the organization in N, Kentucky

Several of our Club Members journeyed South to Paris, KY for the Governor's Dinner November 4. This was a celebration of our new Governor Kendra Skidmore. We met at the Barr House Inn. Anette Eades, Div 10 Lt Governor, hosted the event. Wonderful dinner and benefitting the Kiwanis Children's Fund partly.

October 2019

Kiwanis members visit the New Day Ranch in Verona on 10-23-19 and assist with a Jr High Class Tour of this great kid centered program. Beth hosted the 11 students and shared with them how nurturing a horse and learning the ways to care for a horse and animals can be carried forward into everyday life.

Our Annual Installation of New Officers. The Div 10 Lt Governor Anette Eades attended our formal evening meeting 10-22-19 of the Boone County Kiwanis Club. We shared dinner, cake, and discussed new ideas for the 2019 -2020 upcoming year.

Kiwanis helps GO Pantry celebrate their new Warehouse Grand Opening on Sunday October 20.

We hosted, along with Brianza Gardens and Winery, a "Fall Wine Walk" fundraiser for Rob's Kids. Tony Parnigoni, owner of Brianza, led a group of 50 folks on an interesting guided tour of the grape growing and wine processing at Brianza.

Our Kiwanis Club of Boone County started off our 4th year with the "Passing of the Gavel" from our last President Wes VanWinkle to our newly elected president for 2019-2020 Sue Kozlowski. Congratulations Sue on your appointment. She presided over the meeting with enthusiastic ideas and leadership.

August 2019

Our Kiwanis Club of Boone County was pleased to host Mentoring Plus at a meeting. Chris Saunders, CEO, shared information with us about the great things Mentoring Plus does to help empower and guide kids and plant hope with the children they interface with in N. Kentucky. We presented two donation checks to Mentoring Plus' CEO Chris Saunders thanks is part to Brianza Gardens and Winery and our club too, we are helping Mentoring + and their kids!

The Mary Rose Mission in Florence provides meals for people in need who want to share fellowship as well as a meal. Thanks to Cindy and ther team for over four years providing meals for their guests. We stopped by to give them a donation from Kiwanis and get a guided tour.

Several Kiwanis Boone County members attended the district Convention in Bowling Green, KY August 23-25, 2019. Meeting, sharing ideas, and learning about all the Clubs in the states of Kentucky and Tennessee and what each does to improve the lives of children in their areas.

The Children's Home of Northern Kentucky, with locations in Devou Park and Idlewild Road, Boone County, received a donation check from the Kiwanis Club of Boone County. The mission of Children's Home of Northern Kentucky is to be a community leader providing children and families with opportunity and hope for better lives. CHNK creates an environment that nurtures independent thinking, free and open expression of ideas and innovative approaches to achieve their goals.

Tony Parnigoni of Brianza Winery attended our Kiwanis Boone County Meeting on 8/13/19. He presented us with a donation check raised at his "2.5 K Wine Walk" held in July which was primarily for the benefit of Mentoring Plus. We thank Tony for his commitment to the children of N. Kentucky. Presided Wes Vanwinkle accepts his donation.

Our Kiwanis Club of Boone County was at Camp Ernst Sun Aug 4 helping with the Camp Corral check-in. This event was for children of military vets, deceased, disabled or fallen. Around 425 kids registered. Our Kiwanis Boone County paid and sponsored two attendees this year!

July 2019

We helped host a "2.5 K Wine and Cheeses Tasting Walk" at the Brianza Gardens and Winery on Saturday July 27th. Brianza was supporting the Mentoring Plus Organization who helps children from troubled families make a better life and the Kiwanis Club of Boone County by hosting this event fundraiser. Thanks go out to the 40+ folks who walked with us.

Rob's Kids celebrates Christmas in July. Our Kiwanis Club presented Stephanie Potter with a "Christmas Check Donation" to help the kids at Children's Hospital with gifts for the upcoming Holiday Season. We were at the Colonial Cottage Restaurant on July 10th for the event.

Beth McIntyre receiving a check from Kiwanis President Wes VanWinkle and Brianza at our July 9 made possible from the Brianza Gardens 2.5 K Wine Walk in May. She said they can definitely use these funds to help them with storage and delivery of their "Go Boxes". Thank you from Kiwanis to Brianza and GO Pantry for what they do to help kids in N KY!

June 2019

We held an evening Kiwanis Meeting on June 25 at the Olive Garden Restaurant. We had two guests attend. Stephanie Potter from Rob's Kids received a donation from our Club. In addition Deb Trip Parnigoni from Brianza Gardens and Winery brought us a donation from the Wine Walk they held in May to support Go Pantry and the Kiwanis Club of Boone County.

May 2019

May 25, Brianza Winery hosted a "Wine Walk". Tony Parnigoni helped GOPantry and the Kiwanis Club of Boone County by helping raising raise funds by hosting a "2.5 K Wine Walk" around the grounds.

April 2019

April 24th, 2019 marked the date of our Signature Fundraiser "A Walk In The Woods". We held the event at the Brianza Gardens and Winery in Verona, KY. Brianza Winery, along with Kelly's Q Catering and Musician Taylor Henry provided an evening to remember. We had approximately 50 people attend and we shared information about Kiwanis Boone County's featured organizations we helped benefit - Camp Corral and Rob's Kids.

Mentoring Plus held there "Seeds of Hope" gala event at the Syndicate on April 12, 2019. A great event and honoring their person of the year Jack Moreland. We had several members attend this fundraiser and help support Mentoring Plus.

March 2019

Sarah Westrich of "Crayons to Computers" visited our March 12th Meeting and shared with us all the great things they do to help teachers with supplies in both N Kentucky and Cincinnati.

February 2019

At our Meeting on February 12th we were paid a visit from the Kentucky Tennessee Kiwanis Governor-Elect Kendra Skidmore. Governor Elect Skidmore shared with us here ideas for the upcoming Kiwanis Year and participated in our meeting.

Kiwanis Boone County had a booth at the "Serve and Social Fair" held at the Boone county Public Library on February 12. We met a lot of great people and even presented a door prize to one lucky visitor.

January 2019

Go Pantry's Beth McIntyre was our guest speaker at our Jan 22, 2019 Meeting. She explained to our members about their Organization and their assistance they give to helping provide meals for hungry children.

Officers from the Key Club accept a check for their help in the December "Breakfast With Santa." The Kiwanis Club of Boone County donated a check to the Ryle High School Key Club on January 16 by Club Advisor from the Kiwanis Club of Boone County, Steve Sturgil.
