November 2019

At our November 12th Meeting, our guests were Tony Parnigoni, Brianza Vineyards, Stephanie Potter, CEO of Rob's Kis, and Barb Keeling, Board Member Rob's Kids.  Kiwanis President Sue Kozlowski  with Tony's help. presented a donation check to Rob's Kids for the outstanding work Rob's Kids does in suicide prevention and helping children cope with  trauma.

October 2019

We took a "Fall Walk" for Rob's Kids. We walked a "2.5 K" around Brianza Winery and sampled great wines, enjoyed some cheeses and received an explanation of the "Fall-Winter" processing of wines from Tony Parnigoni, Brianza Gardens and Winery owner. 


We support Rob's Kids! Each year in October there is a Golf Tournament Scramble and Dinner at Devou Park Club House. We are a sponsor of a golf cart and have put together a Silent Auction Basket pictured below.  Best of luck Rob's Kids!



Go Pantry moved into their new warehouse on Kentucky Avenue in Florence and reached out to their support teams to help them out with supplies for their operation.  Kiwanis of Boone County responded with a car load of towels, napkins, office items etc for their program. 

September 2019

Kiwanis Kentucky-Tennessee at their District Convention in Bowling Green awarded the Kiwanis Club of Boone County with two more Superlative Awards- Administrative Excellence Club for 2018-19 and the Today Club for supporting the Kiwanis Children's Fund for 2018-2019. Way to go Boone County!

August 2019

On August 27, 2019, the Kiwanis Club of Boone County was pleased to host Mentoring Plus at our evening meeting. Chris Saunders, CEO, shared information with us about the great things Mentoring Plus does to help empower and guide kids and plant hope with the children they interface with in N. Kentucky.  We presented two donation checks to Mentoring Plus' CEO Chris Saunders.Thanks to our partner Brianza Gardens and Winery, Tony Parnigoni, and his efforts on behalf of our club too, we are helping Mentoring + and their kids!

The Mary Rose Mission in Florence provides meals for people in need who want to share fellowship as well as a meal.  Thanks to Cindy and ther team for  over four years providing meals for their guests. We stopped by to give them a donation from Kiwanis and get a guided tour.

The Children's Home of Northern Kentucky, with locations in Devou Park and Idlewild Road, Boone County, received a donation check from the Kiwanis Club of Boone County.  Rachel Powell and President Wes VanWinkle exchange the check as Treasurer Steve Sturgil and President-Elect Designee Chris Sturgil look on.


Tony Parnigoni of Brianza Gardens and Winery attended our Kiwanis Boone County Meeting on 8/13/19  and received our Kiwanis Club Distinguished Service Award .  The presentation to Tony was for his commitment to the children of N. Kentucky.

Our Kiwanis Club of Boone County was at Camp Ernst Sun Aug 4 helping with the Camp Corral check-in. This event was for children of military vets, deceased, disabled or fallen. Around 425 kids registered. Our Kiwanis Boone County paid and sponsored two attendees this year!

July 2019

On Saturday July 27th  thanks to Brianza Gardens and Winery, we participated in a  "Wine & Cheese Walk - 2.5K" Fundraiser benefiting Mentoring Plus and the Kiwanis Club of Boone County


Rob's Kids celebrates Christmas in July. Our Kiwanis Club presented Stephanie Potter with a "Christmas Check Donation" to help the kids at Children's Hospital with gifts for the upcoming Holiday Season.  We were at the Colonial Cottage Restaurant on July 10th for the event.

GO Pantry's Beth McIntyre receiving a check from Kiwanis President Wes VanWinkle and Brianza at our July 9 made possible from the Brianza Gardens 2.5 K Wine Walk in May. She said they can definitely use these funds to help them with storage and delivery of their "Go Boxes". 

June 2019

We held an evening Kiwanis Meeting on June 25 at the Olive Garden Restaurant.  We had two guests attend. Stephanie Potter from Rob's Kids received a donation from our Club.  In addition Deb Trip Parnigoni from Brianza Gardens and Winery brought us a donation from the Wine Walk they held in May to support Go Pantry and the Kiwanis Club of Boone County.

We helped the Burlington Elementary School with their 5-K Run by contributing to their program.  We also decided to make it possible for a second child of a military vet to attend Camp Corral's  "Week of Summer Camp" at Camp Ernst thanks to the great support we received from our Walk In The Woods Fundraiser in April in addition to the child we already funded.

May 2019

May 25, Brianza Winery hosted a "Wine Walk". Tony Parnigoni helped GOPantry and the Kiwanis Club of Boone County by helping raising raise funds by hosting a "2.5 K Wine Walk" around the grounds.

April 2019

Boone County Kiwanis had our Signature Fundraiser "A Walk In The Woods" April 24, 2019 at the Brianza Gardens and Winery in Verona, KY.  
 We had approximately 50 people attend our benefit primarily for Camp Corral and Rob's Kids.

Mentoring Plus held there "Seeds of Hope" gala event at the Syndicate on April 12, 2019.  A great event and honoring their person of the year, Jack Moreland.  We had several members attend this fundraiser and help support Mentoring Plus and contributed to their program designed to help teens of Northern Kentucky.

February 2019

Kiwanis Boone County participated in the Serve and Socialize Fair at the Boone County Library February 12. We explained how the Kiwanis Club of Boone County helps children in N. Kentucky to attendees.  Also, we gave away a gift basket to one lucky person and invited them to our February 26 Evening Meeting.


January 2019

We gave a donation to Rob's Kids on 1/16/19 for all they do in the field of Child Suicide Prevention, PTSD and the Children's Hospital Psychiatry division. Our December Fundraiser Breakfast held contributed to their worthy cause.


Go Pantry's Beth McIntyre is presented with a Donation Check by President VanWinkle from the The Kiwanis Club of Boone County on 1/22/19 thanks to the Breakfast With Santa Fundraiser held in December 2018.  Thanks go out to GO Pantry for all the help they give kids in N. Kentucky by providing meals.

The Kiwanis Club of Boone County donated a check to the Ryle High School Key Club on January 16.  Officers from the Key Club accept the check for their help in the December "Breakfast With Santa Claus" from the Ryle Key Club Advisor from the Kiwanis Club of Boone County, Steve Sturgil.


Last Year . . .


December 2018

Our Third Annual Breakfast With Santa was a success!  We were at Applebee's in Florence on December 15th from 8:00 am until 10:00 am having a pancake breakfast and Santa stopped in too.  Pictures were taken with Santa and kids who came by. We were raising funds for GO Pantry, Rob's Kids and the Ryle High Key Club.  We had 18 Ryle High Key Clubbers help with the festivities.

December 8th was our Bell Ringing and sharing the "Kettle" in Benefit of the 
Salvation Army of Northern Kentucky headquartered in Covington,KY. Several of our Kiwanis members along with students from the Ryle Key Club were at Kroger's on Route 18 from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. We rang the bells and even sung Holiday songs too.

The Salvation Army, a great organization and dedicated to ministry and helping those who have needs, is presented with a donation from our Kiwanis Club of Boone County.  Captatin Victoria Daniels accepts a check from Steve Sturgil in behalf of the Salvation Army.

November 2018

Our Club welcomed Captain Daniels from the Salvation Army to our meeting.  He explained that our club's Bell Ringing last December helped the Salvation Army reach record levels of contributions for the Salvation Army in the Cincinnati Area last Christmas.

October 2018

Rob's Kids held the annual Golf Outing for 2108 at the Devou Park Golf Course 10/14/18.  A good turn out even though a rainy day. KCBC was a cart sponsor  as well as providing an auction basket and helped raise funds for the Children's Hospital Psychiatric Division.

The Kiwanis Club of Boone County's  October 9, 2018 Club Meeting was presided over by Kentucky Tennessee Division 10 T LT Governor Anette Eades.  She Installed our new Leadership Team and gave helpful and encouraging news about Kiwanis.

September 2018

Kiwanis Club of Boone County visits Children's Home of Northern Kentucky September 7th. Rachel Powell gives us an overview of all the great programs they are currently accomplishing for kids of Northern Kentucky and Boone County.  Our Club presented them with a donation for the CHNK program.

August 2018

At the Mary Rose Mission with Lisa, their Volunteer Coordinator.  We were making a donation from Kiwanis to an organization that offers meals for their guest in need in Florence, KY


Supporting GO Pantry is one of our missions. Several of our members attended their fundraiser at the Verona Vineyards on August 30th.  We are proud of GO Pantry and what Laura and Beth have accomplished

During the August 2018 DCON Meeting, the Kentucky Tennessee District awarded us, one more time, for our efforts during the 2017 - 2018 Year. 


Camp Corral week at Camp Ernst August 5, 2018. Several of our members helped with the registration process for the children of American Vets attending a week at Camp Ernst thanks to the support of Camp Corral.

July 2018


Presented Rob's Kids with toys for Children's Hospital at their Christmas In July event at the Cottage Restaurant on July 25th. Chris, Steve and Wes made the presentations.

June 2018

Ryle Key Club President for 2017-18 Callie Bolling was awarded the Distinguished Service Award on June 26, 2018 by Kiwanis Advisors Bobbie Underwood and Steve Sturgil at a special Kiwanis evening meeting dinner at the Golden Corral Restaurant.

Stephanie Potter, CEO of Rob's Kids receives a contribution June 12th from President VanWinkle,  Kiwanis Club of Boone County. 

May 2018

We joined in for the Community Activities Fair on May 12th held at the Boone County Farmers Market at the Extension Complex on Burlington Pike. We held a "meet and greet" for Boone County folks who were learning about all the organizations in Boone County and what we do. Maybe we shared the Kiwanis "experience" with you too.


Kiwanis Boone County worked with the GO Pantry Meal Packing event held at Master Provisions on Friday the 18th helping GOPantry sort and date items for boxed items. Thanks goes out to several of the Kiwanis members contributing their time and effort to ensure children of Boone County get an opportunity to not go hungry.

April 2018

Our Second Annual Wine and Dinner Pairing Fundraiser turned out to be a successful event.  We held this primarily to assist Camp Corral and Rob's Kids as well as other Kiwanis programs we support.  Funds raised helped contribute to one Military Vet's child going through a week of summer camp at Camp Ernst.  Rob's Kids were helped  through contributing to a scholarship program for a student studying mental health in college.

March 2018

We attended the "Seeds of Hope Dinner" sponsored by Mentoring Plus on March 9th.  Kiwanis Boone County helps support Mentoring Plus and the Kids they mentor through their great program. The event took place at the Syndicate Restaurant in Newport and raised funds for their organization came from silent auctions, live auctions, donations and dinner.



February 2018

Our Kiwanis February 27th Evening Meeting was visited by three of the Ryle High School Key Club Leadership team members. Wes VanWinkle presented the Key Club President Callie with a check as a donation to their club for the help they provided during our Kiwanis Breakfast With Santa last December. Thanks Ryle Key Club and thanks Kiwanis Boone County members at our meeting.

Kiwanis Club of Boone County working hand in hand with I-HOP and the Children's Miracle Network for National Pancake Day at IHOP. We were thanking people for coming in for breakfast and helping contribute to a great organization.


We held a "Discover Kiwanis" event February 22nd.  Even though the weather was bad the folks who were there were in a great mood, sharing snacks and friendship, stories and history about Kiwanis Boone County.


Kiwanis Boone County joins the "Serve and Socialize" program for the Boone County Library.  We hosted a table to provide information about just what we do in the community along with other organizations.


January 2018

Beth McIntyre from GO Pantry shares objectives for the 2018 year at GOPantry.  We presented her organization with a check assisting their "Go-Bag" and "Go Box" Programs. Thanks GOPantry for what you do to help children!
