Most Memorable Learning Experience: When I was an exchange student at University College Dublin, I undertook a walking tour of the Irish capital by tracing the route taken by the character Leopold Bloom in the ‘Lestrygonians’ episode of James Joyce’s Ulysses. Following in Bloom’s footsteps was a fascinating exercise in imaginative reconstruction that not only offered me new insights about Joyce’s novel but also reaffirmed my belief in relating fiction to reality, texts to world.
